Quote: Durham Giant "So you agree he should not be in the England squad ?'"

Too early for mine. He's got the size and pace we need in players to have any chance whatsoever against the Aussies but he's been out of the game for 3 seasons and hasn't even had a proper RL pre season. That said, he's a quality player and I guess the forthcoming series will determine whether it's the right decision or not. Obviously McNamara thinks he's worth the gamble. Personally I would have thought there were better options given the timing.

For all the people talking about 'Thug rugby' etc. please do us all a favour and go get a life. What Flower did was unacceptable. What Westwood did in last seasons final was unacceptable. What Sinfield did in headbutting Dorn was unacceptable. I could go on, not only from this season or last, but throughout rugby league history and across all clubs. Could someone please go through the other16 players who took the field yesterday and point out the 'thugs' or indeed an further 'thuggish behaviour' from the rest of the match. And before you do, also take a moment to compare and contrast with your own teams. You'll find NO team is whiter than white. Get off your high horses. This was one man's indiscretion and nothing more.

Can any of you RL experts explain to me why cockney lad was allowed to pull Sarginson away when he was attempting to stop Soliola scoring? Looked pretty blatant to me.

In those two incidents the victim was conscious when he was hit.

Quote: Phuzzy "With all due respect mate, you're talking rubbish. If you're going to use ONE game to justify your comments, at least make it one where it wasn't 12 v13 and preferably not one half a dozen games back into Tomkins return. Why not try the 2011 Challenge cup final for Tomkins perhaps and maybe the whole of last season for Bateman when he virtually carried the Bradford pack single handedly and won young player of the year. In fact take practically any game for us this season too. I'd start with Good Friday where he consistently ripped you a new one playing out of position!'"

You paid a massive fee for Bateman people suggesting he was the next Jamie Peacock etc... his done nothing but disappoint me every time ive seen him play and last night was no different. Luke Thompson for example totally outplayed the lad.

As for Joel Tomkins his done absolutely nothing since his return to Rugby League. Absolutely shocking decision from Mcnamara to include him in the England squad. I can only guess his there to keep Sam happy.

I'm so happy that i have not wasted a second of this lovely autumnal day, reading the expected vitriol from the usual one eyed mouth breathers, that like to see the greatest club in world rugby lose a final....

I'm at a loss with Wane and the 'hatred' talk in the match build up. I don't hate Wigan or their fans as some are friends. I think Wane needs to think before he speeks.

Quote: Judder Man "Going down to 12 men didn,t effect the structure of the team though they just had to put in extra effort to put in for the lost man. For Saints they lost there one and only playmaker and had to make 4 positional changes dissrupting whatever game plan they had up to half time.
Saints also lost a rotation player off the bench so it was 16 v 16.

It was a great victory under exceptional circumstances, it was a victory for rugby league against the[size MONGRELISM of THUGBY[/size.'"

Nice of all the Saints supporters to take the trouble to line up and wave the Wigan coaches off, never seen the softie Wigginers do that, perhaps it's time they brassed up a bit instead of all this rise above it tripe.

Let's play hypotheticals - let's say Saints go into the game on Saturday with Walsh, Lomax and Wilkin all fit, while Wigan go in with Smith, O'Loughlin and Bowen all injured with whoever playing in their place instead. And then let's say 2 minutes into the game Amor gets sent off for taking Green permanently out of the game with a ehouse cheapshot. Questiondo Wigan have any chance of winning?[/i Of [icourse[/i not - you'd have gotten mullered, man advantage or otherwise. So less of the "best team lost" cobblers and playing the "if" game that some of you are indulging yourselves in if you please.

Saints overcame frightening odds to win an unbelievable and incredibly unlikely backs-to-the-wall victory no matter what kind of gloss or amelioration you want to put on it. We suffered from infinitely way more adversity both before and during the game than you did. We were bitty and scrappy and lacked organisation and composure during the game but should have been a whole lot worse off under the circumstances. And we still won anyway.

Good God. You do like yourselves, don't you?

I don't think I have ever seen such a large pile of self-congratulatory claptrap in all my life.

Tell me about it - it's not easy having mirrors in your house when you're as beautiful as I am, believe me. I have to cover them all up in the morning so I can go to work instead of staring at myself all day. It's a genuine problem and I'd appreciate a little sensitivity about it if you don't mind.

Saints victory was probably the greatest win in the history of the game. I don't support saints.
