| Our biggest defeat in Powell's tenure is 16 points, our biggest defeat this year is 8 points. James Clare is right, Wigan are beatable. I genuinely think the next 2 games will end 1-1. I have no idea who will win which but this game I hope is a better because the draw overall is pretty poor and this is the only game which could light up the challenge cup.

A lot of Cas fans are spouting about them being the form team, this is true but my opinion that we will run away with this game is also based on the fact that St Helens were the form team up until April when they faced Wigan. We ran them into the ground and we have some of our regular star names back in the frame for this game so i stand by my judgement and if im wrong im big enough to eat my humble pie but i wont be rushing out to buy any ingredients that for sure
That's true, they turned up to the world club challaenge. Shame they forgot how to play

To be fair, Railway they actually put in a creditable display in the WCC. They were playing against OZ's finest, and believe me the Roosters are top notch, full of world class players. Furthermore it was for once in Roosters own back yard and also with a team suffering from injuries, with some untried youngsters and having to be rebuilt. Yes I know they looked like getting blown away in the first half, but the way they then dug in, refused to buckle and actually came back at the Roosters was actually very creditable. In fact the Roosters were rocking in the second stanza at one stage and it was only two latish tries, (one which was lucky) that finally saw them home. To be honest I was impressed with Wigans resolve and although I cannot remember the final score (I think it was 36-1icon_cool.gif it certainly was not too bad, given the circumstances.

| It's great that Cas fancy their chances. By the time we play Saints again, we'll have YellowGiraffe and co on here fancying their chances too. Who knows, by the play offs, we might even have Wire fans being confident (Year of the Wolfs).
I think it's terrific so many of their fans are so certain of imminent success.
If we play like we can, and so often have in big games over the last 4 years, we'll be very very hard to beat. I'm guessing they'll find us a tougher proposition than the jet lagged lot they beat in the last minute last time out, certainly.

| I fear it will be an almightily tough game for us (Cas). The thing is that Wigan have been in this position time after time in the last few years, and for us it is virtually new. I think they may have too much streetwiseness and know how on the day and can see them winning by 8 to 12 points.
As regards Shaun Wane's comments, it smells of mind games aka Alex Ferguson. Everyone at the Cas club, staff and fans alike, have no idea what he is referring to. The only thing that has emanated from us is that it is going to be one hell of a hard game against a top class outfit, and that we will have to be on the very top of our form is we want to progress. There are a good few of our fans that think we can or even will win, if we put our best foot forward, but what else does he expect them to say, that we have absolutely no chance and should not even bother to turn up.
That of course would be even more disrespectful, disrespectful to the competition and the BBC, who are wanting a competitive game. In all reality, it's more probably good coaching and psychology on his part, and he's using non existent and mythological comments to ensure his team are totally fired up, and focussed on the day. If it succeeds then good play on his part. He used a similar ruse against Leeds at the Magic weekend, and it certainly worked there. The only problem was he got them a tad too much worked up, and it spilled over to brawls and lets say 'close to the knuckle' action. That does nothing for the game on national TV and lets hope that it does not manifest itself in anything like that on BBC national TV on Saturday. Tough, uncompromising and competitive, yes.
As I say it is in all likelihood, good psychology and coaching. If it is not and he somehow means what he says, then I am afraid in effect it is actually disrespectful to Castleford, not Wigan. Because what he is then saying is 'That who the hell do you think you, are thinking you can come to Wigan and win'. Your a small town club and should know your station in life. Just settle for a cup run and 7th or 8th place and leave the winning of SL and the Challenge Cup to us and the other big boys such as Leeds, Saints and Wire. We do the winning here.
In effect every club who gets to this stage, should believe they can win, and Leigh and Keighley will also travel, believing they can do it. If he meant it, then Shaun's comments smack of elitism.

Do they not teach English in Castleford schools?

Your whole post is sweet.
The underlined sentence couldn't be more wrong. You're still talking about it now and will be talking about it at the end of the season. It was a great advertisement for RL and the BBC would love it if it was emulated this weekend.
I hope you enjoy your big day out.

We've been pretty impressive in knock out games in the rain recently.
Matty Smith will be key if that's the case.
