| Quote: Phuzzy "The stewarding and policing was over the top. I've been going to rugby matches for over 20 years and, in most instances, you don't need ANY police, so why the need for so many at this match? It's not as if there's never been a Saints/Wigan derby before! I got patted down before entering the ground and I said to the steward "do I look like a criminal or something?". I was certainly made to feel like one! Just to make matters worse my neice had her bag searched, not once but twice! The strange thing is, the 2nd steward actually watched the 1st one search the bag before stepping in to have a go himself afterwards!! Totally bizarre behaviour and not befitting a rugby match. Whoever the St Helens club are currently hiring needs to be replaced or the club and ground will get a reputation I'm sure it doesn't want.'"
Bag searches are conducted by the stewards at the DW. However being patted down was a new experience for me, to the point I asked them if I was at the right stadium and whether we were there to see a rugby match or a football match.....I got no response.

We win?
Doubt it.
The 2 folk who where wrongly purchased the tickets (wrongly as they missed the age bracket by 3 weeks & 8 weeks) aren't gonna see concession tickets disappear all because of them.
Do you realise HOW MANY folk use incorrect tickets on a match day?
I know bloody tons.
Disagree with it myself but it doesn't stop literally hundreds (rough guess) do it on a standard match day.
Besides, bugger me, chill out.
I wasnt 'boasting'.
It was a tongue in cheek rhetorical question
Well done. But bragging about it on a public forum may well mean that the concessions won't be there for a future sell out game.'"

| Quote: Agent Mulder "Regarding the stewarding at the stadium. On the opening match of the stadium against Widnes the stewards were very vigilant. However on coming out we spoke to a female steward who was trying to hurry us out of the gates. Apparently the outside stewards come from away - this particular one came from Rotherham. She said they wanted to get everyone out as they had quite a journey home. I think we must have our own stewards inside with a few from away and then the outside ones are ones we bring in from an outside firm. It will take them awhile to get used to Rugby fans being different to soccer fans. We have had a few 'not nice' stewards outside when we have been to Wigan in the past. They think we are all like soccer fans. I'm sure it will settle down in the future.'"
Surely the club is paying for them and should direct them how to steward

you've just been told it was because there was intelligence indicating that some fans were going to bring in spray paints - therefore every right to search and good job too as paint was found. Give up - you've clearly attracted a yob element to your support....very disappointing.
btw - the bog rolls looked poop

Just a pity that those who implied you were lying haven't been able to apologise yet.

| I saw the young lad get thrown out before the game. He was in floods of tears and the stewarding did seem heavy handed. However, I did see him prior to this, stood up on the barriers leading your singing. The same lad also was walking to the ground with his face covered with a scarf.
I really do love the concept of the Brigantes but I do wonder why you are allowing such young lads to be part of your group. I personally find it very odd that you would arrange to meet up with lads of his age (he’s 15).
Someone complained about the till rolls on the Brigantes facebook page and they were slapped down, being told these aren’t illegal. If you want all fans to be part of this you need to empower them and listen to all their views.
I think it’s great the club are backing the Brigantes but I don’t think you lot are doing yourselves any favours, covering your faces. This is very intimidating, regardless of how you laugh it off. If I was walking to the DW with my wife and saw a group of Warrington or Saints fans doing this I would feel very uncomfortable and for me this goes against what Rugby League fans are about.
If you want to be a credible group, would like it to grow and gain recognition for your efforts of improving the atmosphere you really now need to start considering the way you are perceived to others. Not shout them down or blame stewards for a child being evicted. Like I said before, if you want 15 year old children in your group you need to have a duty of care and look after them, not one of you went with when he was evicted and just left him in his distressed state to catch the train. Luckily for him, his Grandad was there and gave him train fare money. A group who behaves like this is something I will not want to be a part of! His Grandad also thanked the Police officer involved for his assistance.

Well, seeing as one of our group did go along with him and even posted as much in this very thread I wonder who it was you saw getting thrown out.
Quote: Weekend Warrior "He was thrown out for throwing a toilet roll. I followed when the stewards escorted him, to make sure he was ok as he's only a young lad.'"

Be quiet..Cold days and wet rather= scarves being used for the fight thing..
And as for a 15 year old being part of the group..Or you saying we should only allow adults into the group sounds like youd rather have a group of bog fully grown men runing around looking like a hooligan group than have a young lad stand on a barrier singing a song and waving a flag

4486_1428087820.png Newsnight 13th May 2010: "With the role of Deputy Prime Minister a non-job. Has Nick Clegg gone from King Maker to tea maker????"
I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

Perhaps if they'd let them take the bloody flags in in the 1st place, there would have been no desire from any fans to take spray paint to make banners in the ground!

We didnt take any spray paint what so ever, the spray paint that was taken off people at the turnstile was a group of young lads that had all spray painted there hair red, it was hair spray not "graffiti" spray paint.
