Quote: Angelus "I don't think Joel hit him in the face, but still, if you saw the look on his face before he went in, he had every intention of decking Yeaman. whether or not he intended to hit him high I don't know, but he led with the ball carrying arm, and should be done for intent. 2 Matches for me. Don't know about Sam, didn't see it, but if he ran in and threw a punch then he should get 1 match. T'is against the rules and all that. Joel was pushed 4 times and then punched before he threw one back, I'd like to see anyone walk away from that.'"

TBH Joel should get that poor technique thing that Ryan Bailey got all last year. He ran at him like any forward carrying arm up into the chest just like any prop forward but because he doesnt normally play like that he made a tit of himself and hit him in the face. He went in to knock him on his booty Lima style but got the face poor technique sure intent to hurt sure but intent to hurt in face? I doubt it should get 1 maybe 2 matches but I'd say 1 tbh. Sam shouldn't get any as he only did what EVERY Hull player did and if they aren't going to ban EVERY Hull player then they can't fairly ban Sam.

Problem is, fair doesnt come into it. Dont be suprised if they both get caned with 3 matches with them back just in time for the big one at home to Catalans.

It does seem that the RFL are reluctant to ban the big players for big games unless its a Wigan player. Morley and Carvell got away with their bans when they were playing us and some Leeds players did a few years back yet we always get them banned for us even when they usually say "Penalty sufficient" or "sending off sufficient" for most other players. I dont usually buy into the whole "everyones against Wigan" but it does seem it at times. Especially when most players get a few warnings first and Lima gets 2 matches in his first game. Most BRITISH players get a few warnings never mind a foreigner who has never played in our league before (poor excuse but its worked many times before for other teams)

I always thought you weren't supposed to promote the ball carrying arm like that? That sentence sounds like terrible English for some reason. Admittedly I've only been watching league 3-4 years so there's still some things I'm unclear on, I could be completely wrong. I'll be surprised if Sam doesn't get 1 match though, Fielden got one last year for defending himself when Mason stood on him then punched him

The blame for this incident escalating lies firmly with Steve Ganson. Hull FC were niggling Sam Tomkins all game. Incident after incident after incident. Nothing done about it. Then a brawl breaks out between Yeaman and Joel Tomkins and STILL Ganson does nothing. A ten minute sin bin and neither player would be up in front of the disciplinary. As it stands both players will probably receive a ban. Joel didn't lead with the elbow. He led with the forearm and it rose up. Silly thing to do, but it was always coming after the negligence of the referee.

As for Sam Tomkins. There must have been three of four AT LEAST from each team running in throwing punches. It was a mass brawl. Very harsh to single out just one player. The lad had evidently been provoked throughout the match. He shouldn't have let his frustrations boil over, but in a full-blooded contact sport, who can blame the boy?

Very annoying and this whole case is making me think Wigan need to alter their approach of not commenting on anything after the match. Agar may be a contender for WPOTY award, but his comments will have done our lads no favours.

Ive never seen ganson let a game boil over like that, he usually takes no crap. Is it any coincidence that our next 3 matches are huddersfield, warrington and leeds?

I wonder how much of any player's acting "hit" has come about from the total lack of protection they have had in the last few years? If the ref ignores a late hit on the kicker then how does the player bring it to the refs attention?

I dont know where you get this from. To end this once and for all watch a video on a well known video site entitled Carl Ablett on Sam Tomkins.

Watch what Sam does after being elbowed in the face then dove on?

Yep, thats right, he gets up and goes to pull his brother and tommy away from the fighting. Where is his crying in that?

I really don't get where this "crying like Sam Tomkins" comes from tbh.

Just watched the incident of Boots 'N' All- The Tries. If you record it on sky HD, play it but hold the play/pause button. It will show the incident in slow mo. IMO Joel goes in leading with the ball carrying arm into the rib/upper chest area. Then due to the impact his forearm moves to the head.

However, if you watch it numerous times, you notice at the start of play Lee Radford (number 10) is at least 15 yards away from the incident. Yet he RUNS to the incident and swings a punch at Sam.

Not saying our players are innocent. I think Joel should get 1/2 and that would do him good. But I do not think Sam should be punished if Radford isn't.
