| Infact Yeaman is an angel.i've been watching him for years and I've never seen him react like that and I bet you can't either, were as J Tomkins has been on the scene for a couple of years and is known for being a cowardly ,dirty cheapshot of a player.

| Balls to any photo images. Joel was guilty as sin and will get 3 games in my opinion. He should get that for stupidity!

You're basically saying 'balls to the evidence'. You're not a member of the disciplinary committee by any chance?

| After reviewing the incident time and again Joel is guilty of nothing more than doing what any sane human would do in the same situation, I defy anybody to take three punches to the face then go all Oliver on him and beg for more, Fact is Ganson bottled it yet again instead of binning both players to be calmed by their respective benches, No he sticks his 2010 head on and thinks a bit of a reaction won't go a miss i'll let one of them react then i'll send him off so I can look good on the match review to impress Cummings and get back in his good books, What Joel did was stupid no one can argue with that and he'll get whatever punishment he gets and the club more than likely will accept it, However let no one be naive enough to think had Ganson done his job in the first place then we would simply be talking about a disappointing defeat or a decent comeback win.

| All wigan need to do it show the tape of a wire game ( I think at the start of last season).
Morley and Carvell both led with their elbows leading into the tackle, neither sent off, neither received a ban - both far worse than the incident with Joel.
I think many people are making more of this than they should because a) it's Joel, b)he was involved in an incident immediately prior with Yeaman.
Take the context out of the situation and it deserves a penalty - nothing more. No diect contact with the head.

| Ganson was very poor today and could've calmed the game down early on. Most teams go for Sam and he takes it but at one point he got takled high and then punched in the head several times, then another cheap shot and on and on - you can't warn the same man 3 times for the same offence!!!
Saying that we should NEVER had let Joel run that ball in it was obvious what was going to happen.
I think the RFL will be loving this one with all that will be up!! Fines galore and (only having seen it at the game and not the replay yet) I will be very very surprised if Joel gets any less than 2/3 match ban. It looked like he knew exactly what he was doing and led with the forearm.
We were lucky yesterday and need to vastly step up next week; Hudds seen to be in pretty good form.

| Next 3 games, Hudds, Wire, Leeds. What’s the betting RFL give him a 3 match ban. I did think it was red when I saw it, but looking at that photograph. I’m not so sure.

Well I meant balls to that photo on a couple of pages back specifically really. But another picture, a different story for me. This one from the Wigan Evening Post -
He's no excuse for what he did and thats my opinion. Intial contact to the chest or not, he still put his forearm/elbow into his face.

| It was stupid what Joel did, no excuse. Fair enough in the original fight, Yeaman threw the first punch. But to run staright at him with a blatent elbow raised was always going to produce a straight red and at least a 2 match ban. What dissapointed me most was when Sam got his head taken off, each of the 3 times none of our forwards, Lima Hoffmann, Joel, Hansen, Coley etc did anything about it, everyone seemed to stand and watch.

| Hindsight is a great thing but...
Ganson surely should take equal blame as Joel and the Hull players. He had no control of the game from start to finish. If he'd have reacted properly to the attacks on Sam I doubt this incident would have occured, but instead he just dishes out countless warnings and we get a very angry hot headed Joel running around. If he had reffed that game properly and yellowed any one of earlier attacks then we wouldnt have ended with the ugly scenes we did.
If Joel gets a 3 match ban (which he will and probably deservedly) Ganson should get the same.

Not doubting that the forearm went into the face, or that Joel was intending to smash Yeaman as hard as he could.
That photo shows Yeaman at about the same level as Joel's shoulders but in the other photo they are both stood face to face and the height difference isn't that much, his ball carrying arm is only raised at an acute angle and the part of Joel that makes contact with Yeaman's head is his left arm which is squashed between Yeaman and Westerman.
There's no denying that his arm was raised after the initial contact but compared to Carvell's at Castleford last year that's absolutely nothing.
Also, compare it to Sam Burgess' big hit on Moi Moi in that game against New Zealand. Burgess uses the same technique in tackling that Joel does taking the ball in. Burgess hits chest first then cracks him on the jaw. If that's a legal hit then there's nothing wrong with Joel's either.

| It was stupid. That said, I've just chuckled at that picture of Bilko's... Have some of that Yeaman! I think either one match ban or sending off sufficient, provided that the committee observe other incidents from the game in context. Obviously they won't, so maybe three matches and a massive fine. Agree with other people's comments - whoever decided that JT should take the next ball in was as daft as JT was.
We were threatening their line at the time of the biff and I was annoyed because we [icould[/i have gone over, despite not showing much promise up until that point. In the end though, and with the benefit of hindsight, it is more probable that without the biff we would have lost. We were a different team after that.
