I know, and quite an interesting season it was.
Probably the main catalyst for change at Wigan that inspired the comeback to produce the Greatest Rugby League Clubs rise to Prominance once again And produce The Greatest/Most Successful Rugby League Team/s this countries ever seen! Dragging the game out of the dark ages was an added bonus that we rarely get thanked for also (I suppose mainly Maurice but I think us fans should get a bit of credit!).
A Bit Like 2006 really except we "Cheated" and avoided relegation for the Games best interest (I mean what would RL be like Without Wigan? Not worth bothering with I suppose, but you don't need to thank us too much) before embarking on a couple of nearly years in which we excercised a bit of patience, and then caught the rest of Rugby League on the Hop by winning SL with a team of "Nobodies" (As a lot of fans were telling us pre/mid season). The "Nothing about Wigan Worries Me" Thread inparticular provided me with some great moments! |

I'm going to back Leeds on this one.
They have to put up with the same jealous cr@p over there, like we do here. All the other Yorkshire clubs hate them, just as our Lancashire counterparts hate us.
Success breeds envy.
We are the two biggest clubs in British Rugby League, and Leeds are a very worthy second. |

Until a team wins 4 SL titles in a row Leeds are in no teams shadow, certainly not Wigans. 3 titles in a row an unprecedented record in our salary capped flagship comp.
