| Why would anyone outside of Wigan support Wigan Athletic though? I can see the appeal of someone outside of Wigan supporting Wigan RL but surely if you are going to support a football team thats not your home town you wouldnt pick Latics.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

| Because we enjoy to see them fail after what has been said and done to us over the last few years by them and Whelan. Maybe the people of Wigan who support the rugby team may have got behind the Latics if never take over from Rugby League as Wigans number one sport! FACT!

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

| Quote: EastStandFaithful "This is a sample of some of the drivel spoken on that Latics forum80% of Wigan Athletic fans are from Wigan
61% of Wigan Warriors fans are from Wigan
so if anyone has got fans from Skem it is more likely to be Wigan Warriors
On a Wigan Athletic matchday the bridge over the canal is clogged up. On a Wigan Rugby matchday, the roads are clogged up, the reason being that your fans drive to the games, ours walk it because they live in the area. Wigan Athletic do not bus in hundreds of Amateur League clubs in on matchdays from out of town to try and keep up with their neighbours, nor do they give a whole stand away to sponsors to avoid getting a sub 10k crowd
Now get back to the third world board with all the other fat dinosaurs telling LIES about our football club because you can't accept the truth, you've already been run off here twice with facts and reasoned argument, in fact you came out with a load of racist drivel last time if I recall
Climb back under your rock, no doubt we'll see you again in a month when the thread has disappeared "
I dont know the last time "ScholesControl" went to a Warriors match but the canal bridge is always full after the game with large queues.'"
These figures relate to the WN postcode. As I understand it both Skem and Leigh have WN8 and WN7 respectivley, therefore the fans from these area are taken into account for the demographic areas of both WRLFC and WAFC fans bases.
Trust me there poohloads of newbie Tics fans coming from Skem not so much Leigh, theres deffo hardly any from Skem or certainly not from Leigh coming to watch the Rugby.
Id like to see the figures for WN1-6 postcodes.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

I think you'll find Warrington is a bit more split due to its New Town overspill developments - west side (Penketh / Great Sankey) is almost entirely Scouse and is primarily Liverpool with a minority of Everton, east side is predominantly Manc (Birchwood areas) with a majority of Utd and a minority of City.

WN postcodes are a rubbish system to judge it - includes Skem and Leigh which would never be Wigan RL strongholds and have little affiliation to Wigan in general, but excludes Golborne / Lowton (WA3) which have a significantly high Wigan RL support and are more closely associated to Wigan than Warrington.

70% of which have a WN8 postcode. (Skem)
Skem is where the tics draw the majority of their support from. The worrying aspect for the tics is that most of these are part time LFC fans and are likely to jump ship when the inevitable relagtion comes. Tick tock tick tock, time running out for Latics.

| They think it's all over, it is now
Just added to CockneyLatic:
-----
There will be no more Rugby slagging off OR love in posts or topics on this board. Any that appear in future will be deleted or moved to the NON FOOTBALL board.
Most posters on here are not interested or bothered about the hatred or love a couple of posters on here have for the Warriors and as such ANY posts added to football related topics will be deleted as soon as they are picked up.
If you really do feel the need to spout off about another sport for any reason then do it on the non football board, it is what it's there for but be objective not obsessive.
On another note, please try to refrain from making personal attacks on anybody on this board, whether they be of our club officials , another sports club officials or supporters or posters on the board. You must remember that everything you type could be used against you should legal action need be taken by a person or persons who wanted to go down that route.
None of the views or opinions you make on here are representative of the views or opinions of the Cockney Latic, they are yours and can be traced if they have to be.
