| I clapped them on and off, mainly because, well, as far as I could tell, they had one supporter there (who made a point of waving goodbye to all the fans that left early in our section of the East stand!), and it's sportsmanlike to do so, especially to recognise a good performance at the end.
The booing of our boys, and the amount of grief that Finch was getting was a little over the top IMO, and even though they are professional sportsmen, the amount of grief they were getting, and blatantly able to hear, was bound to have an effect. At one point, Pat looked to be getting wound up at some of the negative comments coming from the East stand, and was definitely glaring at someone.
Comments along the line of "Worst side ever", "We deserve to lose" and "I hope we don't score anymore", are (again) IMO, a little over the top, but then again, if you've paid for your ticket, you're entitled to voice your opinion!.

| Quote: roopy "I've watched Scotty D come through the grades at the Newcastle Knights since about 2003, and he is the number one student of the Knights halfback academy - well ahead of guys like Walsh and Mullen - but every coach in the NRL knows his achilles heal and knows how to beat a side he is in.
I'm not going to tell you - but every fan in Aus knows he has a very small motor and does nothing and becomes a huge liability in defence if you run all your forwards at him (did I say that out loud?)'"
Good call, and it would be foolish to devise a game plan that doesn't involve targetting the oppo's halfbacks/most dangerous players in defence.
Trouble was, Wigan's lack of ball control last night meant we never gave ourselves the opportunity....

| Sometimes you just have to applaud the better team, We clapped Wigan off at Murrayfield 2 seasons ago and in the Grand Final, not sure about clapping tries but i'm sure some frustration played a part

It's no wonder Wigan fans are accused of being one-eyed, if you are only prepared to watch, and appreciate, one side in a game.'"
??? Did you actually bother to read what I said (admittedly the typing wasn't too hot)? I specifically said I watch and appreciate good play by the other side.
And yes, it really is OK to have differing points of view. Even ones that differ from yours.

Perhaps some people just appreciate good rugby when they see it?
I see planty of people applauding the opposition onto the field every week - and not just Wigan supporters - i see that more as a sign of respect rather than dissent.

When it's respectful applause it's a sign of respect, like when I clapped one of their tries last night. However from my vantage point the clapping as the Cats players walked back was clearly a sign of Wiganer's showing their frustration at Wigan's performance.

Yep and i think your right - there was a lot of frustration from the terraces but i think supporters have a right to express their frustration in this way.
The bottom line for me is that Les Catalan deserved their applause, im not sure Wigan did.

In other words the Wigan fans were sulking?
It's only a game for gods sake.

This is only a message board and yet you feel the need to make up more than one identity so you can have a little more fun.
League Freak/Baz/PHIPPS.... any others?
I don't even understand why you carry on once you have been found out! I think you should make a new one and see if we can catch you again, it would be a fun game.....
The winner could get a jar of uncle joes mint balls or something.....
You still a sharkies fan?

Sorry.
I should have said 'still sulking' by the look of it.

You give yourself away over and over again.
Baz used to always take the mick out of Hull. Yes it isn't the best place but believe me it's a quality away day with the Wigan fans!
