Quote: Jack Kerley "Necessary?

Don't talk crap.'"

My opinion stands.

One drum in the East stand and one in the South is good for the atmosphere. This topic probably wouldn't even be on here if the had been drum in the East stand on Friday evening, as in previous seasons, so it's clearly the case that there's plenty of people who like them, which is further backed up by the poll above. Fans also "lean" on the drum, so to speak, when it comes to songs starting.

And as has been pointed out in this thread, at away matches, like Warrington & St.Helens in particular, a drum isn't necessary because songs get going on terraces anyway. This, as you're probably aware, is due to the fact that all the fans who like to be vocal are together.

I am one of those people and I think as much noise as possible at home matches should be encouraged. It benefits the team and I also find it embarassing to be constantly outsung by away supporters like we often are at the DW. This is common at some RL grounds I appreciate but it doesn't happen at Hull FC or Hull KR for example.

Simply because you don't like my opinion, doesn't mean it is crap.

Quote: Cruncher "So when you didn't say there were hundreds of people that don't like drums as oppose to the twenty or so that do - was that in the same part of this thread in which you didn't use expletives?

Never mind, mate. Life's too short.

If you want to argue with people who, by their use of emoticons rather than words, are basically laughing at you, go ahead.'"

Just to clarify Crunch, I wasn't laughing at Jack, I was having a joke about the situation with Coventry Warrior who had put an amusing post on above mine.

Overall I coulcn't give a monkeys, I posted my position early on page 2/3 of the thread and I still stand by it.

I guessed that 5% of people would want them banned
20% wouldn't want them banned
&
75% wouldn't really care.
I still stand by that "Guess"
At this point Jack said let's make it a poll. Maybe he doesn't like the results of that Poll but Hey, Facts don't lie! icon_wink.gif
Although they didn't put the option on of "Don't care either way".

My only stance on this is that until they are banned, then they are entitled to use them?
Exactly the same as myself having to put up with the 1/2 dozen who hounded Mathers out of the club with absolute obscene comments week in week out and are now trying to do the same with Piggy & Pryce.

Until they Ban Moron's I have 3 x options.

1/Put up with it
2/Move
3/Don't go

If Jack gets a petition up and wins the argument & they are banned then it won't really affect me, I would suggest if he tried, the club would get more people objecting to the ban than did want them banned?

I do however agree totally with your observation that certain posters use Inflammatory terms rather a lot and then wonder why people have a go back at them as per a recent post last week! icon_wink.gif

Me thinks this topic has become pointless, people should stop banging on about it.

I personally voted against having a drum as i think it sounds better if you can get chants going without them. I am trying to "drum" up some support for this opinion!

I put that forward as it is something that I have experience of.

I have had the same seat since 2000, and the same people are always complaining about the drum.

However, as usual on here, the uninformed opinion of a clique member is obviously the winner.

At this point Jack said let's make it a poll. Maybe he doesn't like the results of that Poll but Hey, Facts don't lie! I said lets poll the fans that go to the game.

Anyhow, I would hardly call 69 votes a representative sample, and the in favour vote is hardly a landslide is it.

However, it is "obvious" and a "fact" that "most" people want to keep them, so I should just not bother going any longer.

If the poll above was representative, and it isn't, then if that percentage of people voted with their feet every week, and didn't go, the club would be in big trouble.

However, you lot would still have your atmosphere enhancing drum to keep you warm.

Jack,Jack,Jack

As I have said Many,Many Times, I don't care, I'll still go no matter what!

However you can't say that a poll isn't representative of a situation, and then use that same poll results to form a further argument that if those people didn't go the club would be in big trouble?

A better question would be, if the club Don't ban the drums, How many will stop going? I'm not sure their would be many who say they would stop?

Maybe another Poll? icon_wink.gif

Jack... You really are Victor Mildrew?? Hey the tenner is all mine folks!!! I might even invest it in a drum!!! what seat number do you sit in again Jack?!!

Sorry Jack but until there is a "Grumpy and miserable CherryandWhite.com" website, your going to have to put up with opinions of people who have age ranges from 10-90+ and although they may disagree with yours.. it is obvious by you ageist conitations that you cannot see or care about your fellow fans...

Before you start to go on about "Why should I care if they don't care about me" Blah Blah... Like i said in my first few posts if you don't like it then move to a suitable area away from the drum, don't go to games or just sit in "YOUR" seat in misery because TBH... I really couldn't give a Sh*t....
