I think to take him back as a player the club would be asking a lot of questions and seeking a lot of assurances. They would be stupid not to.

No idea but I think what people are forgetting when discussing the possibility of him rejoining the team in two years is - the rest of the team! In two years time we will have hopefully seen the progression of some of the young forwards people rave about. If we have, why should they stand aside for Hock?
He will be after all have been a player who was banned for two years for doing Cocaine whereas these lads will have spent those two years establishing themselves in the 1st team. I don't quite see them having to possibly move aside for him as sending the right message.
Whether sending the right message is an issue or not one thing is for sure and that is the team will have moved on and so he may well find himself in a position where Wigan would rather put any wage he would get (however small he could then command) towards other players.
