Personally, I'd be very disappointed if our new prop forward was Ryan Bailey. If we're going to sign a forward and not trust to our own, I'd hope that we'd be aiming much higher than that. I don't see that he'd be any improvement on the lads we've currently got.

| Quote: Steve Ella's Beard "How i'd love Watmough at Wigan, but obviously not going to happen.
I rate Lima and would be happy to see him at Wigan, it's a more plausible target with him being a Kiwi and there being no giving up test/origin selection issues. Still I can't see us signing anybody of that calibre unless we can offload.
On a separate note, but while we're talking about forwards I was reading something that surprised me the other day. The forward a lot of New Zealand Warriors fans would most like to return was not Fui Fui Moi Moi (which surprised me) but our very own Feka, a lot of them were also quite shocked about his current weight - just show's our expectations of the big guy should be higher and hopefully might be addressed.'"
Feka has racked the pounds on during his time with us and he needs to be reigned in by the new coaching staff.
If Feka got to the level of fitness he had around the time he signed for us I really do think he'd be the best impact prop in world RL!
Imo he's the one guy in the squad we could see the biggest turn around in.
If we can get Feka fit he'd be in the top five props in the league IMO
If anyone wants to know how Feka should be looking just look at these pictures

| We need some dog but Bailey is no dog.
There's a difference between being a soft, jumped up cocky $h1t, and being a solid enforcer. Bailey is more of the former as opposed to the latter.

I agree.
Its not always about fronting up and smacking someone on the jaw, its the niggle in the tackle etc that just makes players unpleasent to play against that is also part or a Props job in my opinion.

Crazy isn't it to see the change in him.
In those pictures he's comparable in physique to Fui Fui Moi Moi and Wiki.
I'd love him to get near to that level of fitness again as it would improve our team no end.

That is the Feca we signed and now look at how 3 years of Mike forshaw conditioning has turned him in to.

Agreed.
If we have money, lets not go wasting it on average SL players, we have those. We need to improve the squad with real quality players.

I don't want to go OTT about Feka but, imo, its a massive problem and it's hurting the team.
We talk about needing to bring in a new ‘dog’ prop but we fail to realise the huge benefits we could get by conditioning both Feka and Fielden to an acceptable level.
When Feka was the size he was on those pictures the guy was in NZ squad that won the tri nations!! He was really was lean and human wrecking ball.
A bigger Fielden and a slimed down Feka off our bench would be game changing.

Christ almighty
He really has put on so much weight in his time here.
Staggering. This needs sorting for next season before we end up releasing him, some other club snapping him up, he slims down there and they end up with one of the best props in super league.

| Wane says he wants more dog in the pack.
What king of dog though?
Someone with real pedigree that will bring quality to the team on and off the field, or a mongrel that will go out and scare the opposition and those that don't get scared will get harmed!

Although I agreee he needs to lose some weight, how you can say he needs to be that weight is beyond me.

He doesn't need to get to that exact level of fitness but I’d prefer him to be closer to that rather than closer to what he looks like now.
I assume, correct me if I’m wrong here btw, that you’re suggesting his game will suffer at that level of weight?
At the time of those pictures he was on the verge of the NZ team and now he’s not selected for any national side? Also that weight is closer to the one he was at when he first came to us and imo back then he was a much better player (remember his first game and his 20m sprint for his try! That’s what Feka can be all about imo)
