Agreed, but some of the brown stuff in the last week on here after the Leeds game showed a lot of our fans don't actually watch the game properly. Quite a few wouldn't have had him in the 17 tonight. Know nowts.

i think a lot would have to be put down to frustration because we seen how good a player him and smith were at the start of the season and he had been blow par for a couple of months since being taken out.

Yet despite that he was our only creative spark last week and he was still the whipping boy for some. Hopefully they'll crawl back under their rock until our next loss.

So we didn't employ an excellent kicking game tonight to pin Brough and the rest back just as we pinned Hull back with an excellent kicking game at Wembley?
The fact we played sensible RL for most of this game and did so in the 2nd half at Wembley wasn't a similarity? In both games we put in better 2nd half performances than the first and in both games I reckon we pressured the opposition to the extent their confidence had drained away long before the final hooter. In both games we handled the occasion better than the opposition. Plenty of similarities from where I was sat.

I agree a much improved game tonight than his recent efforts, but did put a few passes astray especially in the first half. I thought Thornley had a bad case of the dropsies early doors, and Gelling got away with a bit of a silly pass that he shouldn’t have attempted IMO, but all’s well that ends well and I just hope we can keep it up. I thought the forwards biased bench was the right way to go and SW should keep it that way.

| What I saw tonight was a pack playing at 100% for the first time in ages, instead of the 90% we've been seeing. As a result, the same players dominated an opposition pack that is at least the equal of Leeds's pack that bossed us last week. That, in turn, allowed the halves to shine in a way they couldn't behind a beaten pack last week.
So yeah, I'd say Wane sent them out with "maximum effort" orders this week, instead of the 90% intensity he's been allowing in the previous, relatively unimportant games.

| I'm flabbergasted that people actually think Wane has been instructing them to play at "70%" or "90%" or whatever. Do people think this is a computer game where you just adjust some settings and press start? Teams play badly because they are [iout of form[/i, they lose concentration, they are physically depleted, they are human and make mistakes. It isn't intentional and not part of a plan! Honestly some of you are crackers.

| If you listen to the fans, you'll end up sitting with them.
All credit to wane for sticking to his selection when most wanted to throw half the team away.
Last nights game showed what happens when the forwards put everything into the game, including the sort of off the ball running we haven't seen since the start of the first half of the season.

Dave, we kicked well. If a good kicking game is not part of the game plan then I am not sure what should be.
As for the rest if it last night was like watching Wigan under Madge bodies in motion, dummy runners, quicker line speed, getting the ball out wide and giving it some air. We player with intent.
The final was like watching us under Noble, up the middle, no moves, no dummy runners. Totally different.
I am sure you would come on here and be over the moon if we lost some times, you have an odd agenda as a Wigan fan.

They give 100% every week I do not doubt that, but they are not physically or mentally prepared to be at 100% ability each week.

| I think it is not a case of playing at 100% or 70% - I do not believe that players can switch like that.
It is quite simple - the last few games have not meant as much, there was nothing major riding on the outcome - last night was a big game and the players responded by giving that extra effort because it meant something.

13 September 2013 10I thought a performance similar to their CC win from Wigan - they played well within themselves against a team that fluffed its lines on the big occasion (again). If Wigan can get O'Loughlin back they will be very hard to beat.[/i
So did I ! It's a pretty simple point I was trying to make and I have idea why you want to imply of infer anything else from my post.
And as to this "If a good kicking game is not part of the game plan then I am not sure what should be." I think you really are clutching at straws because the CC final and last night have featured the best kicking games we have had all season. They stand out as different from all the rest of the games in this regard and therefore this is why I said they were similar in that respect. A good kicking game is certainly part of the game plan in every game. Its just that these two games stand out in term of executing that plan.

| Our attack was the best it has been for months last night. We had that pace and unpredictability about us. A lot of it came from Wanes tactics of running with a heavy pack. Personally I think that is the way we should be playing without lockers. Start with 3 props with Flower at loose and have 2 back rowers and 2 2nd rowers on the bench
