| Quote: Father Ted "If Pryce was lazy he wouldn't be in the team.
We now all know how MM and SW work, step out of line and you're out!
As Gleeson found out!
If you don't play as required, again you're out!
Pryce must be doing what is required of him.
The team worked well for his first three and his fourth was all down to him!
His defence is good and his try scoring record means we are not missing Pat on the left wing! He is also coming in with a few runs from dh as Goulding does.
Pryce is playing very well and I hope he continues to improve as he has been doing.'"
Agreed Ted, what is concerning is tries conceeded on Gouldings wing.
I also thought he was in touch for his 4th try but we will have the points thanks, these officials are useless without a video ref.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know
The extent of his coaching is ''BASH EM, JUST F*CKING BASH EM. HE'S LOW ON CONFIDENCE, BASH HIM''
He's a limited coach that won't last long term.[/quote:8f22o6ue]
....
That would make Wigan strong favourites then. With Ratchford at FB and Patton with Cronk in the halves, I think we'll do very well without Sam.[/quote:8f22o6ue]: |

| we all know what we expect from a winger.
Pryce is doing what is needed. out of all gouldings trys this season, i have to say about 80% of them were walk ins. maybe even more. BUT Pryce has been much better in defence in the matches they have played together, you could argue that goulding played with marsh inside him twice, but then again, last week it looked to be that goulding was the one creating the problems for marsh.
any way, last time i checked, a walk in was worth the same as a great try. and with players like carmont and gleeson inside the wingers, they are going to get a large amount of walk ins, and other players like lockers, joel and sam who will also make defenders chose to come in and leave their men.
the player i think should be most worried is goulding, because roberts will be back soon, and he will be wanting either a wingers shirt or FB shirt pretty soon. and Pryce is outplaying goulding, and he is really only in the first few games of a very long time out of the sport (at this level) so will only go on to get better.

Very true so at the end of the day lets herby declare scorng "walk ins" not a stick to beat a winger up with whether his name is Goulding, Ainscough or Pryce? Likewise it's also got to be about having a bit more about you as a winger to be considered really good than just scoring lots of walk-ins?
On those scores I think all the three mentioned have had their fair share of walk ins but what about the hard to score tires?
Pryce did well today for his 4th and it isn't his fault he was short and it got given but despite that and despite the fact he did go inside looking for work I don't think he was particularly effective. Then again after the first 20 mins neither was the rest of the team but Pryce doesn't seem to play to his size.

If I'm honest he did look in touch to me. I don't want to take anything away from him though he's doing a good job for us at the moment.

| I agree. Its gonna be a tough call to drop someone who has scored 2 tries in every appearance he has made this season, surely thats all you ask a winger to do?

Not everyone.
He's doing o.k.
What no-one seems to have picked up on, is that although he has scored eight tries, there has only been one scored against him (at Huddersfield last week) and that wasn't really his fault.
I also think that he did get that ball down before going into touch for his fourth try, I was directly in line with the touchline, close call but a try for me.

He hasn't really been put under pressure in defence, so I think that's the one thing that will become clearer in time. There have only really been one or two try scoring opportunities down his side. I think a lot of teams attack more down the left hand side which to some degree also explains why we've conceded more down our right side recently.
Certainly having Pryce in the side does add strength, which means he's unlikely to be walked over like Gleeson was for Chan's try. His height means teams are unlikely to put the ball up high to him, and his physical size means they aren't likely to target him one on one.
The only weakness teams seem to think he has is dealing with the grubber kicks along the ground but as of yet he's dealt quite well with those.
I think when Roberts returns we'll see him playing down the right which may test him a little more in defence. At the moment he's really pushing for a new contract.

4916_1342356991.gif Rugby league must be a great game to survive the people who run it.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_4916.gif |

| He was defo in touch with his fourth try but what the heck - we have had plenty dis-allowed that were legit so makes a change for one to go the other way.
Couldn't help thinking how many tries Brett Dallas would have scored in this current set up

That's where the jury's still out, for me, and why he's still behind Roberts, Richards & Goulding.
Delighted with the improvements he's shown so far, though; at this rate he will be challenging Darrell soon.
