When you look at the quality leaving the club, and the quality left, it really is concerning for next season.

Props, we are dire in this department. Our best is probably Havard, and as well as he's played, he can't carry the rest of them and is still a number of years from being at his best. The rest offer very little.

French (potentially), Tommy and Hastings going leave a huge void, genuine quality and up there with the best in the league.

Centres - Gildart, on form he's international standard. The other side is Hardaker or Bibby, neither are exceptional at centre. That leaves us with no specialist centres.

Wingers, we have Marshall and Bibby contracted. Mandfredi seems to be improving, if he can stay fit I'm sure the club and himself have an agreement if he reaches certain criteria.

So we are first choice fullback short, we have 3 wingers if Dom signs, 2 of them recovering from serious knee injuries and no out and out centres. We will be 2 x half backs short for next year (Smith hasn't done enough for me yet to consider him first choice). We have not one prop that any other top club would want in their team.

Obviously the club will be working on all this and try to keep things under the radar, so we will have to see.

I've tried to lay off Lam, but his coaching really now is under the spotlight. We have probably had a handful of 80 minute performances under his tenure.

IL and KR have some serious work to do and big decisions to make.

After all we have signed a centre and a prop from Leigh and a winger from Championship London

I have no faith in the club at the moment, so much so that im.not sure ill bother with another game this season

It is a big worry that even if the club do splash the cash on a couple of big name stars we have let the overall standard of the squad sink by bringing in bottom of the barrel players. I hope that I am wrong and that they just need leadership to shine.

I for one will be going to watch my team prob with a feeling of dread but the wins will be so much enjoyable as with some comments we have no chance of winning anything even a game.
I will not let the team down as they need my support and money and have given me so much pleasure over the years.

This thread highlights the issue you face if you try to minimise losses by cutting back on the cost of your playing squad. You will lose numbers through the gates. It feels a bit like Lenagan thinks he’s run out of options, especially with the delays in full crowds being let back in. I’ll wait and see where we end up squad wise for next season but the signs are worrying at the moment.

It's also an issue of signing too many players to one year deals.

If you have to keep dipping into the transfer market for key players, then you're eventually going to come unstuck. I don't know any successful side that has run with some many short term deals - especially when you add the coach in there too.

Good on you. Me personally, when i am not paying bills, i like to spend whatever i have left on being entertained and things that i enjoy doing. I won't pay for something that i don't enjoy whether that makes me an armchair supporter, part time fan etc etc i don't really care, it's my money and i work hard for it. I bought a season ticket last season knowing i would be missing lots of games through work but the club made a commitment with big signings so i responded in the best way i could. The club are looking like making dross signings this time around so i will respond in the best way i can again, I.E - Steer clear and watch it on the telly.
