Truly heartbreaking news. Puts everything into perspective. He's still a young man with a young family. I hope they can all the support, love and attention they need.

Such sad news.
He's my wifes favourite player. On the 2008 World Cup tour we stayed in the same hotel as the players in Townsville and she asked of she could have a picture taken with him. He said "Yes come on, I'm just getting in the ice bath" The ice baths were wheelie bins and she had the photo taken with Rob Burrow in one and Gareth Hock in another with my missus between them.
I've met him a few times since at various England games and he's always took time to have a chat with fans of all clubs.
He's a true credit to himself, his family, Leeds Rhinos and the game in general.
I've just come in from "grandad duty" and my mrs has already donated to his fund, please all of you give something no matter how small.

He has an unwinnable fight on his hands unfortunately. Devastated for him.

One of the very few players respected by all supporters.
As well as a great and tough player he always seemed like a humble guy which for me carries more than his playing abilities as good as they were.

Very sad news, when Robbie used to come on the pitch I went through every emotion, fear, hate, amazement, admiration, respect. A class act on and off the pitch, good luck fella we are with you all the way.

Burrows was an exceptional player. Built like a jockey. No place for a a Rugby League player ? Not a bit of it !

I always 'hated' him when playing against Wigan. Which was a sign of greatness. And Burrow on his day was great.

Apparently, some nicknamed him as BEEP BEEP ! Sounds about right....from the cartoon character.

FYI guys.....Sky have just announced they are showing the Leeds v Bradford game live this Sunday. Cameo appearance from Robbie and a few other past Leeds and Bradford players towards the end. Will be an emotional afternoon and looking like a sell out

Fabulous to see it sold out, there’s not many players who could tempt 20,000 people out for a one sided friendly in January, so that shows the feeling for him.

I’m hoping Wigan have some sort of gesture in the pipeline for our game against Leeds next week. Even if it’s just bucket collections around the ground, they’ve got to do something IMO.

I think they will, as will most if not all SL clubs this season. It’s absolutely incredible to see the whole RL community come together again, unfortunate it’s under such circumstances but it reiterated the family aspect of our sport.

The one player in the Rhino's team I feared as on more than one occasion, both at Academy and First team level he ran rings round us.

Like many other small number sevens like Bradshaw. Murphy, Edwards, Gregory etc, a outstanding player and clubman for Leeds.
