I believe work will start on Robin Park in November.'"
What’s the plan moving forward with Robin Park?

| Quote nikos="nikos"having a ground is an albatross around your neck unless you can get it earning more than just SL home games, ie pop concerts, ground share with a footy team etc.
68 playing and coaching staff - up 6 on PY !!!
we all know the size of the squad, seems a lot of backroom boys??!!
everyone files on the last day....'"
I do want us to have our own ground but I can’t disagree with what you’ve said there.
New Zealand Warriors have averaged 17k this year and next year have halved their season ticket costs to get a full house every game. I don’t know how much season tickets cost at Wigan and I can guess they’ll be fairly good value for money, but could we look at reducing the cost? I accept it’s a gamble but one that may pay off long term.

That business model bankrupt Bradford.
New Zealand Warriors (and all NRL clubs) get $12.5 million from the NRL.
Super League clubs get £1.8 million.

| Quote Mash Butty="Mash Butty"https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00174692/filing-history
Under the filing history header you will see the accounts for year ended 30 Nov 2017, click and download.
As you will see in the last 2 years Wigan has lost over £1m and IL continues to prop the club up, without him where would we be? - Turnover is up but "like for like" wages have increased by £240k (page 2) cash is down by £500k (p11). The lease note (p21) interests me because it appears the annual lease of £17k and is up for renewal this year and although note 22 (p22) does detail the fact that the club has access to a 25 year period. IL is not committing to the full term. This is understandable, but he's not committed to 5 years & I don't want to jump to conclusions, but if he did include a 5 year lease agreement the balance sheet would be even weaker.
Finally, why do these accounts get filed on the last day, is it another delaying tactic of bad news? It does follow is normal pattern...'"
Having a negotiated 5 or 3000 year lease has zero effect on the balance sheet so don’t worry. You don’t have to provide for it, it’s just a note in the accounts.
Regards
King James

| Does any one else see this as a possitive or just me?? Effectively we are 180k better off that the year before. Granted a loss is not good but a better loss than year before must be a good sign.

It’s going in the right direction definitely, regardless of the loss. Another loss is probably expected next year given the low crowds this season and another year with no Wembley with OT yet to be decided.
