He then asked are they doing Well in the Championship to Which Geoff Boycott repled " yeah not bad, They made the Grand Final last year against St Helens and I Was there".
Now in Yorkshire speak to get the essence of what Geoffrey Boycott said next I will try & Type Yorkshire (In the accent, not the word Yorkshire for clarity).
"They would ov won it n all if that stupid bloody bugger hadnt ov punched him int 2nd minute, got himself sent off, Id av sacked im there n then!".
Jim Maxwell asked him who is favourite player was and he replied "Billy B!".
Jim Maxwell then said he remembered him and Eric Ashton playing for GB in Australia back in the day (I presume maybe the 62 tour?) and what great players they were.
Boycott then mentioned how we had lost one of the great players in Derek Turner a couple of days ago.
Showed great knowledge in the short while they were talking about RL.

I know what you are saying Jukesays. maybe we should start a petition that only standoffs should play standoff.
Or maybe the young conservative from Yorkshire should get a Taxi back to Yorkshire

Yes, I heard the whole thing. I was amazed that he would be a Wigan fan. The whole exchange started when discussing a well built Aussie cricketer (name escapes me) who one of the Aussie commentators said would have made a good RL player. I love TMS and Pemps should hang his head in shame!

Andrew Symons
As an aside I was at the GABBA when Andrew Symons scored a 7 off one ball against New Zealand in 2008.
I think he played at Brisbane Broncos when he was younger?
As for Pemps, well what little respect I had left for him has gone!  |

I heard it as well . Jim Maxwell asked him how Wigan were going this year , he hadn't a clue . Didn't even know we had played the previous night .
All he could go on about was that prop (couldn't remembers Ben Flowers name when half the world knows who Ben is now lol ) who got sent off and lost us the game . But he was at the final last year . Wonder who he got that freebie off .

Born Milton Terrace in a NCB house in mining village of Fitzwilliam..behind the house was a rugby league field on which Hemsworth Miners Welfare played.
Fitzwilliam is 4 or 5 miles from both Wakefield and Featherstone(good teams yesteryear)so he probably knows a bit more about RL than many think.
Other notables from Fitzwilliam if anyone's interested footballers Cyril Knowles('nice one Cyril')of Spurs and his brother Peter of Wolves..their father played for Wakefield Trinity.
