| Understandably people will be writing this performance off due to a poor display from a weakened Hull KR but I thought Wigan were great last night. 1 half break from Hull KR all night and some terrific rugby league played.
The key to where we will finish will be whether we can find a way to take our good home form into a tough run of away games in a fortnight. The difference in performance level is staggering really - obviously playing at home will help but it's only a patch of grass at the end of the day right?

| Quote: Wigg'n "Hull KR didn't have just one eye on next week, they had both eyes on it. Resting Campese and taking Blair off early on was proof of that.
We need to start every game with that much intensity though, regardless of who we are playing. We used to do it a couple of years ago, just blitz teams in the opening 15 and they haven't got a clue what to do then.'"
I never felt that wrapping yourselves in cotton wool was ever a sensible preparation for a big game. During the Graham Lowe and John Monie era at Wigan, the policy was to take one match at a time - treat each one as an essential game in its own right, and go all out to win it - and never think about the week after next.
Rovers may well feel the next match is the 'real' one, but a 60-0 defeat can be a difficult thing to get out of your system inside a couple of weeks.
The main danger, as I see it, is Wigan being complacent. But hopefully, if they're now hitting their straps, and a good solid win against Cas would be just what the doctor ordered in that regard, they too will approach the Cup game with very professional and serious intent.

| What did the sign say that Gelling was waving about? Saw something about Greg Burke and Beech Hill but as soon as I saw it on the screen it flashed off again.
He seems a right character does Gelling, must be great to have someone like him in the dressing room!!

I believe it said said 'Greg Burke #17 Beech Hill Bad Boy'
What a lad Gelling is.
Regards the game; Wigan were unplayable for that first 20 minutes. Yes Rovers were poor but the skill and pace Wigan showed during that period was quite phenomenal. Hopefully we're hitting our straps coming to the business end of the year.

| I think one of the more important stats is the big fat zero in the away points column. KR hardly threatened but you can only play what's in front of you and being ruthless in the way they were will only do us a big lump of good.
Very entertaining game, & nice to be able to relax for once.

| The key for me was the first 20 mins targeting Kelly , worked a treat, last 3 home games have been very impressive , now need to do it away , next away game in France then Magic will tell us a lot , as for last night never mind their injuries , we have them as well , a bit of praise is in order , same again at LSV please

| A bit too easy for my taste but a good game for some of the younger guys to gain a bit more confidence.
I did enjoy the number of Wigan lads or lads who came through the system who scored or made tries. IL and SW have had their critics in their pursuit of playing guys who have progressed through the system I am sure that they particularly enjoyed last nights performance and the style of play produced.
Glad that Patrick got some decent game time. Still very unconvinced by him but hope he proves me wrong.
Williams improvement is particularly enjoyable but the return to form of Farrell is for me the main reason for the recent improvement. Those who say he is too little have gone very quiet of late.
A roller coaster of a season but at the moment pretty enjoyable.
Sterner tests to come but at least we now seem to be getting back to good basics. We need to translate this in our away form which so far has been pretty appalling.

| Williams is maturing nicely and it is hopefully now clear to most people why Wane has been right to be patient with him. His contributions in all aspects throughout the game were superb. However the confidence he showed in scoring his individual try was sublime. Had that been from a recognised 5/8 then everyone would have been drooling in praise. I was surprised that he didn't get MOTM but actually I am pleased that he didn't. He has more maturing to do and so we don't want him getting too much adulation just yet. For me he now needs to prove that he can turn a game against a top side. I am absolutely convinced that he will in time. How about a match winning performance against Leeds at the Magic weekend to dispel any remaining doubters?

I saw things last night which made me think that the slight changes in play that Wane said may happen this season are beginning to take shape, especially now that the dry grounds seem to be here.
Williams had a super game last night, but I also noticed Matty Smith turning up a couple of times on the left hand side of the pitch which made me think are George and Matty trying to play like a couple of halfbacks instead of what is seen to be the norm of a left side and a right side halfback. All it needs is for George to turn up on the right a few times and Wigan would really make the opposition think.
This change in tactics (in my eyes) seemed to be borne out when Sarganson suddenly appeared on the right to go over.

| Sarge has done that before. In fact we've done in quite a lot this season - remember Joel scoring in the left corner earlier this year. Carmont used to do it a bit also. I think it's an NRL tactic, saw it a few times in the Internationals this morning. Can be very effective.

The stats show how one sided it was
Hull Kr missed 56 tackles compared to 6 for Wigan (I wonder what the record is)
2 Hull KR players averaged 0m per carry as they never carried at all
Wigan gained 3 times the amount of metres thank KR

| That first 20 minutes we would have put points on any team in the league,we played brilliant.I don't buy into this whole Hull KR injury thing,we have plenty of players injured too,I just don't think they were up for the game and we punished them for it.

| Since we played most teams our attack has slightly changed.
Wire was the best example teams thinking we are going wide all the time looking for the gap between centres and wingers but for Williams to cut inside the player who is out of position. What is impressive is the support play if we make a break. Options either side and usually Rocky joining it. Whilst its taken sometime Williams and Smith look the best combination as both change positions with each other.
Friday night was embarrassing to a degree we took the foot of the gas which is the right thing to do. If we went for it for the 80 we might have seen at least 80points if not 100. We were good but HKR were embarrassing for a side who seems a lot better than Friday nights display.

Sutton's stats are outstanding. Very impressive for a 19 year old in only his second season.
