| Predictions are pointless. Take every game as it comes. My only target if I was part of the set up would be to try and make our home venue a fortress. Do that and the away form will be decent enough to look after itself.

| 5 from 8 I would be happy with as long as the losses were not poor. 6 from 8 and we should be chuffed to bits, some really hard games in there.
4 from 8 and I think we have reason to be disapointed really.
Losses are most likely to come against Warrington, Leeds, Bradford.
If we were to lose anymore than 3 I would hope it would be because the other team has played better, not through poor fitness or errors etc.
My actual opinion is that we can win 6, we won 6 of these games last year so hopefully we can do the same again or maybe even better if we can win at the HJ. I am glad we have some real tests at the start of the season, Hull KR and Warrington should be great games.
However it is tricky as we do not know how other teams will perform, there is always 2-3 teams who over achieve at the start of the season, we couold be one of them or the teams we play could be, who knows.
What we do know is that the last 3 seasons, games early on have let us down, expecially last year so we must give ourselves the best start possible.
Can't wait for the new season!

| we had similar optimism last year when we looked at the fixtures........we all thought we would win first 3, and we lost em all.
and from a similar looking set of fixtures in terms of difficulty, what we thought might be 8 wins from 10, tunes into 3 w 7 L
lets wait and see and go one game at once.
and im still not over the embarrassment of last seasons opener.

| Pulverise Crusaders at home, that's all I'm thinking about.
Treat each match like a Challenge Cup Final.
Once that's done move on.

The players should do that! But we are fans, is it unreasonable to want to win a certain number of games hoping we can be near the top of the table after 8 games.

As fans we should be wanting to win 100% of games all season, I certainly do, which would put us top of the league. Never yet have I gone into a ground wanting to lose, but picking the correct accumulation of winning results is entertaining but there's nowt in it! Following Wigan under the last crew these last few years has meant to expect the unexpected, i.e. Lose to the Celtic's but beat the Leeds's. However under Maguire no one has seen the team take to the field, or which players he prefers (remember everyone gets a chance). How can we predict on that?

I think you have missed the point, it is merely a thread to predict where we think we should pick up points. Everything you say goes deeper than that and is discussed on other threads.

| I am sure McGuire and Wane are not a coaching partnership that will ever think we can win 6 of 9 or that we'll beat them at home but not away etc.
We CAN win every game and if the coaches can get the players to really believe that, then we can win every game then that self-belief will start to show on the pitch.
