| You'd have to think the only people who can stop them winning more is themselves. They won't win everything, every year but you can't see how there won't be more success given the talent in the squad and the average age of it. I just hope some of our fans don't get in to that mode of expecting to win every single trophy and calling out anything less as a failure.
Personally I feel like I can enjoy future finals/big games more going forward now. Saturday felt really pressured because I was desperate for us to go back to back. The Grand Slam on top just made it an opportunity that you don't want to pass up because it might not come around again.

as fans we can hopefully look forward to a period of success. The foundations are there with the long terms contracts. The last time we looked like having a period of success, all our players wanted to move on and it never happened.
Its now up to the club to manage those contracts and ensure we have a production line of talent to replace players as contracts are expiring alongside some shrewd signings
next year it is likely we will now have Isa and possibly Faz (although he may o again in 26) retiring, so Junior and Walters need to be ready to be our 1st team 2nd row. I think we all agree giving Isa an extra 12 months as a squad player has been good business for next year. Then we have Keighran who is out of contract too, so do we promote Eckersley if he is ready for regular 1st team, so some decisions to be made in the next 12 months

Funny you raised that NK, I am usually very nervous on match days particularly when we are contesting a final (ala Steve Hampson) but, at the CC and GF I was totally relaxed and felt confident that we would win. Either that or I am getting too old! I agree this season was a bonus winning all four and we shouldn't get too carried away however we should lap it up and milk it for all it is worth. I think we will win the LLS again next season, the rest comes down to winning knockout matches and they can be unpredictable.
I am looking forward to seeing the documentary it should provide plenty of insight into what makes the club and players tick, as well as highlighting the highs and lows (not too many of them). It would have been terrible if the documentary had finished with a GF loss!

yep but thats sort of what i mean with decisions to be made. We have seen at Wigan in the past and at Leeds / Saints now, that they arent getting it right. Keighran has got more years in him but we need to make that decision about retaining him v potentially losing Eckersley (i know he's just signed a new contract) and thats where i dont envy the guys getting paid to make decisions on players futures / who to retain or let go, it must be a nightmare with the SC in place
When i look back at the 80s/90s and we released Hanley, Bell, Offiah, etc etc, but we got the best out of all of them and had a knack of letting them go at the right time, and i dont recall any of them coming back to bite us on the . Yes, we had someone like Sean Long who couldnt get a 1st team place but thats sometimes the price to pay for having experienced players in the 1st team

I'm fairly relaxed about our succession planning for the first team. You're doing well if you keep all four outside backs fit at the same time for a decent period, so we should be able to fit Eckersley in even if Keighran deserves a new contract.
The thing I'm a bit concerned about - and how good is it to be in the position where this is one of your main problems? - is where our depth will be. I don't watch enough of the youngsters to know which, if any, will be first team ready in 12 months time, and we've given out a few big contracts recently, so I'm not sure what room we'll have to bring in more bodies at centre or second row.

You weren't on your own Zig. I never doubted we would win and was actually more nervous for the semi even though I had us as winners by 12. Strange really.
I think the big caveat for the LLS next season is the Vegas trip and the possible WCC. The disruption around those could scupper our chances as I don't feel KR will drop away in the way Catalans did last year so you're probably still looking at 5 losses maximum to win it.

At centre we have Eckersley and have just promoted Nathan Lowe to the first team.
Second row we have Nsemba, Walters, Farrell, Isa and have just promoted Lukas Mason.

Hopefully Lowe and Mason will be up to it by then. I think we're looking great for next year, but I was thinking more about how well we'll be able to sustain our strength in depth once Isa and Faz pack in. It might be that there's plenty of space under the cap, but I get the sense that some of the good news we've seen with big contract extensions this year could be set against expected departures further down the line.

| A great indicator that the club is doing well is that all current players seem happy and content to continue their careers with Wigan rather than continue seeing the steady flow of exiles every year (which contributed to continuous team disruption).
95%+ of those players are now in positions worse than that of the Wigan 1-17 squad.
Players like Burgess, Gildart and Bateman; all three have gone backwards. Williams, whist financially better off has traded in his success. More fool them.

| The first team seems set and I trust the club to manage contracts and keep people happy. Few teams will be better next season an think anyone on their day can knock us off our perch. Hopefully all the players are fired up to go again, not that I expect us to but would be nice to win 3 GF back to back now we’ve managed it twice. I would like the club to focus on the women’s side and the wheelchair

| There should be no shortage of motivation. Last year we ended Saints' run of 4 in a row. We should be looking to beat that.
And did we see this graphic getting shared by the official Super League social media sites. If this isn't motivation I don't know what is

| Sounds like the WCC may not be out of the question yet. Encouraged that Penrith and the NRL seem keen to explore different options (e.g. Magic Weekend).
