Saints players' behaviour was in marked contrast to their fans, who observed the minutes' silence very respectfully. Their players behaved liked spoiled brats. I never thought I'd say this, but Saints fans deserve better.

There definitely seems to be an issue with certain players at Saints with regards to whingeing and moaning. They aren't the only culprits in the league though. IMO any back chatting should be a penalty or a further 10 yards if a penalty has already been given. Any further back chatting should be a simple sin bin. Only the captain of the team should be able to ask the referee questions about why the penalty/decision has been given. It's not rocket science.

You've just won the grand final and made your big rivels look pretty rubbish and this is the best you can post.

What a silly thread.

You should be enjoying the moment and not bagging saints players.

Well done last night, showed us up big time.

I hate wigan but hate the aussies more, so good look against the dragons in the world club challenge.

Ganson would have marched them up ten yards for the dissent.
Silverwood had to speak to the Saints players at least three times, and I think it was only the fact it's a Grand Final that kept him from showing any cards.

I think that's a fair viewpoint, but Graham didn't help you guys. Saints' discipline was not the best during that game.

Graham should have got 10 mins and they should have been marched 10 yards for Wilkins poor language. At least Leuluai left it till afetr the final whistle icon_biggrin.gif

Our discipline could have been better and i don't like the back chating by graham and wilkin but get over it, you guys won and still banging on about nothing things that went on in the game.

That happens in finals when emotions are high.

The ref was pretty good and let the game to flow and imo was correct not to sin bin graham.

He didn't want to spoil the final and he did a ok job.

I thought that Silverwood refrained from binning anyone due to it being a grand final (no player has ever been binned or sent off in the history of the grand final). If it had been a league game then Graham or Wilkin would have almost certainly gone for ten.

That said, I can understand why they got so frustrated. All of the saints players gave their all and had it been Wigan that had lost four grand finals on the trot then I would be extremely frustrated too. The fact that it was one of the best players of the summer era's last game meant that the saints players had another reason to want to win. However I do agree that we need to get the back chat out of the game. It's a poor example to be setting and the last thing we want is to get to a situation like soccer.

It's was only graham and wilkin that was back chatting and they are not the only players in super league to back chat.

Graham needs to get his head down and stop getting so eat up as it knocks him off his game.

The RFL should have a big clamp down on back chat next year.

Looks like Sinfield has serious competition in the Gobsh$te competition next season.

i wouldn't have wanted to see any players sin binned or sent off. it would have belittled our achieveent a bit to be honest.
it wasn't all of them, just graham who was clearly very very frustrated and wilkin who can never keep his gob shut anyway. Especially for graham it would have been so frustrating to give everything and things not coming off.
no cause for concern as we are nowhere near the realms of footy players moutching off.
