| riley is quick to be fair, but i think if richards had moved the ball to a left hand carry he could have fended riley off and gone under the posts

| Riley is quick you are right, however, I stand by my statement.
Any of those players would have given us 6 points.
I look at our wingers and they are "adequate" at best pace wise.

| I was screaming out for him to switch the ball and hand off. Fox should have done the same last night to although he still may of got tackled.
When Roberts is fully fit i'd back him in a foot race against Riley.

| I wouldn't swap Richards for any other winger in the world. Bloody good try for me.

| you play to your attributes. we have a great arial kicking game with pat on the wing, we would not have that we anyone else. he isnt the quickest, but he is strong, and has decent pace. but like i said, would have liked to see him back himself, swap the ball to the left and fend off riley to score under the posts. i remember the try he scored for wests in the grand final when he did just that. handed about three off and went 70 meters. pat is imo the best winger in SL

Fair enough, but this is where you and I differ then.
I yearn for the days that we were able to hand it to our winger in open space and be certain of a try under the sticks.

I wouldn't go that far, but there's certainly nothing wrong with Richards on the wing. He's comfortably the best athlete on the field most days.

| Riley is no snail and had the angle on Richards. Richards did well to keep his head and score.

And Richards recovered to take the kick, whilst Riley was still out on his feet.
Our Pat is fit in oh so many ways

Absolutely, and I have already stated that I am a fan of Richards.
However, a real flyer would have been under the sticks and we would have been 2 points ahead.

There are not many wingers in the world now or then you could confidently hand to and expect to race away under the posts let's be honest. Offiah and Preston the only dead certs at that in Wigan over the length of the pitch in the last twenty years.

However, I long for the days when we have a genuinely quick winger.
Richards did well to score, but a quick winger would have been under the sticks and we would have had a lead.
Pressure then on Warrington.
Offiah, Fergusson, Preston, even Gill pick up that loose ball and we have a 6 pointer.'"
Valid points. However, how easy would it be to find a geniunely pacey winger who could hold off a last gasp tackle like that.

Well a genuinely pacey winger wouldn't have to........
I agree that it was a great effort from Richards to score though.
