39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| If it were not for Roberts putting in some great performances before these last couple of weeks I would agree.

| Quote: wiggywigwig "taken straight off the wigan site about roberts He is an exciting player with speed to burn and has a great try scoring record what a joke!
Full stats 26 apps 8 tries 6 goals total 44 points
Ainscough 12 apps 17 tries total points 68
speaks for itself really
Both bad under the high ball yet one is a local lad with speed to burn and a hunger for tries who cant get a game the other a over paid aussie with no hunger or determination.
As for ainscough getting hammered at the high ball put the centre on the wing for the kick problem solved.'"
here we go again, comparing two players on opposite wings, playing with different centres, and seeing totally different amounts of ball go through their side, in totally different matches.
but sure, bring ainscough in, bang him on Robert's wing, and sit back and light the blue touchpaper if he doesn't maintain the try scoring record he had on the other side, at a time when all our play was going through there.
and while we're at it, let's paint roberts pink and call him daisy

| Ainscough played on the left which at the time was the sole inpetus of our attack. Most of Roberts' tries have come since we signed a decent right centre and have lost Hock.
I've also been told btw (not sure the truth in it, but a usually good source) that Shaun can't play on the right as he automatically steps off his left foot and would therefore end up in touch.
Roberts will be on the right on Friday. Get used to it.

We should also get used to the fact that Fielden will always be in the team as well.

| Shaun plays on the right wing for the reserves so would see no reason why he wouldn't be able to do so for the first team. He is injured though so can't play anywhere at the moment.
I agree that comparisons between Roberts' and Ainscough's scoring records are unfair. I have posted on previous threads regarding the bias in our attack pre Hock's suspension and its effect on tries scored etc.

| tbh one of the biggest fears i have (apart from the irrational fear of sponge ) is the lynch mob turning on Ainscough if he failed to meet the expectations he's set with some people every game.

I can see where your coming from on this one. A few games without scoring or him making a couple of errors could lead to him being hounded in the same way Kevin Brown was after he made a fantastic start.
