Its not just you.
Many people think that Riddell is carrying an injury therefore not being able to contribute fully. But with Leuluai at 9 Wigan always look sharper and look more likely to break the line.
IMO his best position is 9 and he shud stay there.

| We are, his enthusiasm speeds play up, hes always shouting for the tackled man to play it and then he can accellerate away from the PTB with a run or pass or a combo of both. Wigans PLB is far to slow normally. IMO if we made a better effort to speed it up all the time it would help all our props out and give our HB's options. All too often Fieldens recieveing the ball and hes got 2 or 3 forwards set ready to smash him, lets get Fielden on the front foot for a change and give him a chance.

| Tommy has the potential to be a world class 9 and should be played there all the time
Just need a world class half back to play with Sam ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| LeuLuai is quality at hooker, he could be our long term solution in this area.

| I hope Wigan are lining up a new deal for Tommy asap because he's getting better and better imo and will end up being a world class hooker.
He's a good 7 but 9 is his position and he'll cause havoc when played there on a regular basis.

I don't agree he's a good 7, he's very average there for me. Certainly at 9 he has far more potential to be extremely effective for us. The problem is IMO if Leuluai is going to accept a new deal I think he'd want to be a first choice 7. If I was Lenagan, I'd offer him a 3 year deal but on the proviso that he's happy with being a substitute hooker. I would be comfortable with Tomkins coming to start next year as long as he's partnered with a new signing who can handle the majority of the work. Leuluai isn't that man.

| The difficulty is that both Riddell and McIlorum are on new 3 year deals.
That is our long term plan, rightly or wrongly

| 100% Wigan look far more dangerous when TL plays at 9, the whole play seems to speed up and has the defence on the back foot.

| Tommy's style at hooker is very similar to Tevita Leo-Latu at Wakefield.
He and Brad Drew work well together and hopefully Riddell and Leuluai will eventually have a similar partnership.

Tevita ? I always thought his first name was either 'another knock on from' or 'a high tackle from'
