| Great to see Havard named but I think I'd look to give him another week due to the intensity this game is likely to be played at. We need to make sure we're totally switched on from minute one here, because they will come out strong after that poor performance last week. Where I think we can get them is from the bench and by keeping our intensity really high throughout the game through them forward options, so I don't think it's a game to try and ease a forward in who has been out for 6 months.
I'd go-
Field
Miski Keighran Wardle Marshall
French Smith
Dupree O'Neill Thompson
Nsemba Farrell Ellis
subs
Mago Hill Cooper Leeming

Agreed let Havard play in reserves if they have a game on, then all being well bring him into the first team next week

I don't think we do have any reserves games for a while but still, I think I'd rather put him in at home against Catalans than away at HKR. Catalans have been playing really well and that game should be pretty intense as well but I think you can control things a bit better at home and it shouldn't be as frantic. We'll get battered on the penalty count on Friday, with that HKR crowd all over the ref as usual, so it will be taxing on the players match fitness.

| Peet has confirmed Havard will play on his Wigan TV interview.
Said someone how has been playing really well will have to miss out so I assume that means Hill.

Fair enough, he has to come back in at some point I suppose. Once everyone is fit, the two nailed on props for me would be Thompson and Havard and then everyone else is in the mix for another 2 or 3 spots, so I can see why he wants him in asap.
I'd love to see them find a place for Hill thoigh. I think he's been superb but ultimately we can't get them all in and we knew that would be the case at some point.

| I'm not convinced Havard should come straight back in with the ways the props are playing currently but the coaching staff will obviously have far more detail to inform that decision.

I think Dupree is nailed on, the rest are fighting for the fourth or sometimes the fifth spot.

Yea duprees nailed on and we have Byrne back next week I think. Really tough choices for Peet. We’re going to struggle to keep all happy. Could we stick Eseh and Hill out on loan to a SL side till end of the year keep them happy

| I just hope he's fully recovered, it'll be a disaster for him if he breaks down again

I wouldn’t quite have him nailed on just yet, like I would Thompson and Havard. He’s very close and would definitely be in my best 17 at the minute but I’d just want a few more big performances, against the better sides to nail his shirt down. I’d say his best performances this season have come against the lesser sides (Cas and London) and his quieter ones have come against better opposition (Saints and Salford) we’ve played.
It’s not a criticism, his general level has been really high and he’s been a great signing. There is plenty of improvement still to come and me saying I wouldn’t quite have him nailed is only a sign of how many good options Matty Peet has.

I think it will all become a little clearer next season. I think Cooper and Isa will retire and Mago will move on which would promote Hill and Eseh up the squad. I think Chan will be trained as a second rower and will start to ply his trade as no4 second rower with him eventually covering Nsemba and Walters when Faz hangs up his boots *which i think will be the end of next season)
In terms of the other thread about Nicholson. I think Nsemba is in the spot that he would have been in by now and Nsemba would have been where Chan currently is. Signing Chan is a replacement for Nicholson i reckon.

Definitely don't want Paddy Mago to go anywhere now that he's got himself into good shape. Shame he's took this long but he's there now. Something will have to give somewhere with the front rowers eventually though and I'm not sure Cooper leaving will be enough.

In reality we have the following competing for 5 possibly 6 spaces depending on tactics as middles.
2 starting props and a 13 along with normally 2 sometimes 3 on the bench.
Cooper
Thompson
Dupree
Ellis
Byrne
Mago
Hill
Eseh
Chan
Havard
Basically 10 into 5/6.
Cooper is likely to finish this year so that’s 9 into 5/6 and I as others have already said think Chan had been signed as a project forward who will play that utility role but convert to second row.
That would leave us with 8 into 5/6.
It’s still heavy but with injuries and restricted minutes coming into the game I think it’s pretty reasonable for us to progress next year and only lose Cooper.
My gut feeling is, if we were to lose another it would be Havard to the NRL over Mago.

No, we are going to need them both.
