Brad Singleton returns to the squad following his ban.
Wigan Warriors v Leeds Rhinos, Wednesday 25th August, DW Stadium, K.O. 7:45pm. Buy your tickets NOW!
Brad Singleton returns to the Wigan Warriors squad as Adrian Lam names his players for Wednesday’s Retro Round clash against Leeds Rhinos.
Retro Round is coming to the DW Stadium this week as Wigan host Leeds in a game where all ticket prices revert back to 1995 when the Club was based at Central Park.
Tickets for the Round 21 clash on 25th August (7:45pm K.O.) are on sale and it costs just £10 for Adults (Over-16s) and only £5 for Under-16s. Get your tickets now by clicking HERE.
Team news
There’s a return for Brad Singleton this week after he served his three-match ban for a Grade C (Punching) offence in Wigan’s Round 17 fixture against Leigh at the start of August.
Sam Powell may be added to the squad – subject to completing a medical assessment later today. The hooker suffered concussion in the opening two minute against Hull KR in Round 22 and was left out of the squad that faced St Helens last week.
Willie Isa is not named in the squad due to pending disciplinary action from the RFL match review panel, following the game against St Helens on Friday.
Injury news
As confirmed last week, captain Thomas Leuluai will miss the rest of the 2021 season after suffering a hamstring tear.
Bevan French continues to recovery back home in Australia from a long-term hamstring injury.

| Well we know Isa is going to get banned so who plays centre ?
No Halsall or Hanley in the squad so does this mean another one of Lam's mass shuffle arounds to cover one spot ?
If Shorrocks is at either 9 or 3 when the team is announced I might just turn the car around and go back home.

| Clark should be in but won't be, Havard Byrne and Shorrocks haven't been completely flogged to death yet
Field the option at FB if he's fit enough to do 80mins, big call putting him there though coming back from a bad hamstring injury

| Byrne was a serious liability in defence sometimes on Friday, should get a rest.
Seems crazy that neither Halsall or Hanley have been selected which would simply allow Bibby to move to centre?

| Anybody got info on O'Neil ?
Seems totally baffling to bring him back permanently from Widnes only to leave him out of the squad, I'd of thought this was the perfect opportunity for him and Bourouh to share the 9 duties.
Two failed HIA's for Powell in a matter of weeks should surely be justification for sitting him down for at least a month

| The disciplinary comm might have some further say which will affect Wednesday's squad.
Bateman will be lucky not to get a ban and Shorrocks might be sitting this one out too.
Lam could well have to out a revised squad for the game.

Bateman is out (1 match) Shorrocks got about 3 NFA's for late bumps on the kicker

Byrne missed three tackles, Partington missed five. They were also the only props who made over 50 metres.

Partington will be a good player, but having the ball stripped by a HB is unforgivable for a prop.
Clark has his faults, but something has to change. As they say, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results. Clark has provided go forward & points in the games he's played.

| Clark is becoming like Hankinson/Escare.
Just weirdly adored by fans despite being pretty ordinary.
Clark was pretty average in his spell of games. Always gassed after 5 minutes, poor defence (shooting out the line and missing most of the time) and his carries aren’t great.
I don’t disagree with some above saying he’d be a good option for a game but the way some Facebook fans go on you’d think Lam wasn’t picking Jason Taumalolo.
