I have championed Williams to be our kicker for a good while on here as I think his technique has always looked good without having the accuracy.
The recent practicing seems to be really paying off and I hope he keeps improving and aslong as he doesn't have confidence issues after missing a couple I think we have a good kicker on our hands,certainly better than Matty Smith potentially. and this will hopefully stop people crying out for signing a player just because he can kick.

Certainly seems it,although I don't want to get too carried away. He has got the distance which Matty never had which makes touchline kicking much easier. Matty used to have to really put extra effort in to try and reach from the sideline which inevitably meant the loss of accuracy.

It's a treat to watch him kick these last few games. We have lost a couple of games recently when the try scoring was about even but the scoreline was anything but thanks to plenty of missed conversions. It's been a fantastic turnaround in this area, hope he continues with this form!

He needs to be told the job is his and noone else's while he's in the team,then get him firing from the more difficult angles and practice,practise,practise.

Only one miss yesterday from the touch line and that was only by the width of a bugs todger! He's looking really promising.

In his last 4 games he must be kicking over 90% and most are not gimmies by a long shot. Need to let him do this all season now.

I agree. He looks like a good kicker in the making. I just hope when the inevitable 'bad day at the offuce' comes he's given support from both fans and coaching staff. Confidence is key for George. He seems to doubt himself very easily. Practice and experience and he has the ability to be a top kicker.

That's what I hope doesn't happen,he's handed over duty before after missing a couple,he needs to realise he's the best in the team and not let it get him down.

And what happens if he get's injured? I agree that he is doing great and it's a pleasure to watch conversions going over so sweetly again but don't put all our eggs in one basket. The more competent kickers we have the better the team will be. Imagine how good it would be if we had four or five good kickers on the team - oppositions wouldn't know what hit them

How many sides have the luxury of a choice of good kickers, though? Even in the NRL, I see top teams with guys kicking with percentages in the 50s and 60s.

saints have smith, makinson, percival and lomax...only team I can think of though
