I've been a critic, but always admired him as a player and a person. Good luck to him and thanks for 4 years of 100% effort.

As a player he has his limitations, but there was certainly no doubting his guts in the grand final. It was noticeable that Gidley targeted him at the death as he looked to be all over the place, but he stood firm and kept him out. Best of luck at Saints.

Could really miss him next year if injuries strike again, and we all know Tommy's injury record.

I suspect the denials were about keeping the focus on Wigan and the GF build up.

Good luck Matty (except against Wigan)- never can be accused of not giving 100% and that is all you can really ask.

He's had some harsh words spoke about him in the last year and I've always felt for him because he seems a top top guy. He has never given anything less then 100% and I've loved watchign his passionate celebrations of trys, tackles, knock ons or anything remotely positive tbh.

All the best to him. I think the time is right to part ways but I'll always give him a decent reception when we play Saints.

Agreed. I spoke to him once, and he was a very likeable guy.

Glad he's getting something out of this that he wants, and isn't leaving because he's surplus.

I have always supported Matty. He was good for us. So many tight games that he settled with a drop goal. He had bottle in abundance.

As for his place kicking. He never wanted the job, but got on with it without complaint.

A great organiser, a great team player and I fear we will miss him. He practically carried the team throughout April, May and June.

So good luck at Saints Matty, because you earned every penny that Wigan paid you.

Two grand finals, one Challenge Cup (Lance Todd trophy winner), not a bad haul for such a short space of time. Could have been more if we'd had more luck.

You can't fault his effort and determination. A likeable bloke by all accounts, must be a good feeling that your hometown club want you back knowing they made a mistake to release him. A key player for us this year.

Deserves our applause prior to the next Derby.
