Leeds 8-50 Wigan
Sam Tomkins destroys the Rhinos single handedly. A performance Hardaker can only dream of. Has Zak ever done half the things in his career that Sam does in this match. Yet people keep telling me that Hardaker is better.
Great highlights

Leeds 39 - 28 Wigan
Challenge Cup Semi Final 2012
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g4nJ5XY3Ih4
Hardaker produces a fantastic try saving tackle on Tomkins and then another on Hughes.
Tomkins drops a bomb, lets a kick roll out for a 40/20 when he could've picked it up and decides to turn and moan at the TJ about a forward pass and thus leaves a massive hole for Hardaker to run through and score, all within the first 10 minutes.
Lovely stuff.

| 23-22 is still probably my favourite. Closely followed by Calderwood and Ashton tearing them up in '06.
The scenes on the western terrace on those occasions were crazy.

I won the clubs try of the season comp that year after picking Calderwoods effort. Got myself some free tickets and all the signed player cards. Was told they where the only set to be produced and then the club sold another set on ebay a few years later!

| Games that stand out:
1998 Grand Final. I was 6 and apparently would not shut up about Iestyn Harris and how we had to "watch him".
The eliminator where Brian Carney scored two brilliant tries. One of the best matches I have been to.
Getting hammered 70-0 and singing always look on the bright side of life on the coach journey home.
Mark Calderwood and Chris Ashton running Leeds to shreds in 2006. Massive win for us in the context of that season.
Phil Bailey scoring in the last minute at Headingley. Eddie Hemmings was screaming "Pat Richards has scored"
Losing to Leeds in 2010 at home in the play offs. Penalty in the last minute that Pat Richards missed (4 years later he would kick a drop goal from that angle).
Same year going back up to Headingley and winning convincingly in the end.
The Challenge Cup final - Joel Tomkins' try will live long in the memory.
Finally losing the final last year.
Wigan/Leeds fixture is currently the game I most look forward to every year. Usually always a great game.

| 2010 away play off. They had just won three Grand Finals in a row, and would go on to win the next two as well, so it was a mammoth effort to knock them out in the play offs on their own turf. Otherwise it would have been six in a row! Everything seemed to come off for us in that game and we weren't even sweating in the last quarter. What a way to make our first Grand Final in 7 years.

I know it'll always be remembered for the McGuire incident at the end but if you put that to one side the other 79 mins of the 2010 playoff game at the DW was brilliant. Not just saying it because that one went in Leeds' favour but it was genuinely a fantastic and exciting game and it must been a belter for the neutrals. To think the losers still had a 2nd chance the next week it was played like a genuine semi final that neither could afford to lose.....a vast difference to a lot of the 'Loser has a 2nd chance' games during the top 8 format.
Although it wasn't a great game in the heavy rain, the cup game in 2010 sticks in the mind for its uniqueness. All the points came from penalties kicked by Richards and Sinfield until Lee Smith scored the winning and only try in the last minute.

| My first final (in my 2nd year of watching Wigan) - John Player Trophy 1983 at 'neutral' Elland Road.
Leeds were massive favourites that day but Wigan held firm against a strong attack in a close first half before Gilly and Brian Juliffe clinched the game for us. It was a big deal for Wigan having endured a miserable late 70's/early 80's period.

| The Offiah 10 tries game when you lot won 74-6 is a highlight for me.
We'd already been put to the sword 71-10 in the cup semi final so the result versus Leeds made up for that a bit and shut up the many Loiners who'd taken the pee after our cup hammering.
The 69-12 Premiership final of 94/95 was another good one.
