| Are we all confident?
I am. I dont think much of the Leeds team this year. Peacock and Sinfield carried the team for them last year and we're seeing that's why they are struggling now. They've signed a couple of average squad players like Galloway and Ferres but these are just journeymen and nothing to worry us. Watkins and Ryan Hall look poor as well so far.
I certainly dont want to jynx it, but at the same time I wont lie, I've never been this confident for years about us playing Leeds and winning.
Anyone else as confident?

| 50/50 game. They have injuries and we have injuries so but sides are far from full strength. It's a battle of who can cope with their absentees the better IMO. I'm sure Leeds will be quick to tell us they have more but I'm not convinced they're quite as pivotal to them as Tomkins and McIlorum (these two especially) are to us. They've got McGuire missing who's very important but the rest should be covered by a deep squad.
I can't call it personally.

| I never thought that Leeds were massively dominant over us, even last year. They certainly got the drop on us in the games that mattered, which they deserve credit for, but we lost the Grand Final as much as they won it, blowing the sort of chances we'd been blowing all season.
This weekend, the odds should be more in our favour, especially given their loudly proclaimed injury list. That said, I'm not rollickingly confident because our 2016 form is so average. It's important to keep winning, but bizarrely I don't think we've played well this season thus far. Last weekend was a big victory for us, but we still leaked a lot of points against an attack that was much less incisive than the one we'll be facing on Friday. Given our own absentees - which are considerable, though I doubt we'll hear Slaphead and Wiggie make much of that - I feel this game will be very evenly balanced.

| I really hope we go with Sarg at FB and Gildart in the centres. We look much more balanced and dangerous that way. Tierney has done OK but I think that's mostly down to the fact that there was zero expectation on him to start with. Tomkins is still a long way off and our attack is appalling at the minute, we have to shake things up a bit.

I wouldn't call them journeyman. Galloway played for the Tigers for 10 years or so and is now at only his 3rd club. Ferres since leaving Bradford as a youngster has progressed to better clubs as his career has moved on, That isn't a journeyman that's a reward for being a good player.
Nothing to worry us about? Although i am slightly confident we will beat Leeds that is a dangerous comment

| We have a good record against Leeds at the DW under Wane (WLLWWW) and haven’t lost an SL game there at all since June ’14. I don’t think that Leeds are playing well enough to overturn that, particularly as we are in the habit of grinding out ugly wins. Motivation-wise they have the relief of getting off the mark with a win last week and we will want to dish out some payback for the Grand Final. We were improved last week as well IMO bar a 10 minute spell. I’ll go 20-12

| I know you guys have got players out but I still think you have the edge, beacuse youve still got your halves, and because your highly structured game means individual skill isnt nearly relied upon as much as Leeds
Gonna be a huge upset if we win but you never know, this could be the week that everything clicks for us
You think if we win our coach is gonna come out and say its his biggest accomplishment ever, like wane did when you beat us in manchester with an injured team?

| I am hopeful, but never confident when it comes to Leeds. And certainly never complacent. I will be getting more and more nervous and jumpy between now and kick-off time, when I will be somewhere between blind-panic and juvenile over-excitement.

| Think if Falloon plays and it means we can play with a proper hooker in attack AND defence we have a chance. If he misses out and we go with the same set-up at 6,7 & 9 then we won't score enough points to win.
McIlorum always seems to be your key guy whenever we travel to the DW or Magic games and does a great job unsettling us so his lost could be pivotal.

You have to be the worst Leeds fan ever. Constantly playing down the chances of the TREBLE winners citing you are the most injured team in the world and nobody else has ever had one. Who are you missing really. McGuire and a hooker. Make do like we have had to do. If you don't have the depth to cover your injuries who's fault is that? Shouldn't spend so much on these Aussies then you might have sufficient cover. We have some big injuries but because our replacements don't look out of place nobody mentions it. I guarantee Sky will big up the Leeds injury list on Friday but won't mention ours. If Leeds lose it's because we had a stronger side out. If Leeds win it's the mark of a true champion team and Wigan were full strength.

I don't think there's a team in Super League that would have sufficient cover for losing Briscoe, Moon, McGuire, Faloon, Ablett, Ward and Buchanan all first 17 players, all at the same time at the very start of a season when you've just lost three of your previous first choice 13 to retirement. That's a winger and a centre on opposing sides, meaning that neither side can function ideally; our stand off and captain, meaning our attacking structure suffers. Our first choice hooker meaning we suffer in both attack and defence. Our left sided second rower - adding to the imbalance on that side, and our loose forward. But no, people are really exaggerating the issue of Leeds' injury list.
All told we could be starting against you with only ten of our first choice 17 - and you don't think that gives you any advantage?

First of all, it's not some kind of injustice that you've suffered these injuries; it's a fact of life in RL. So change that chippy, truculent tone.
Secondly, you're not the only ones. So stop talking as if you are.
If you want to be taken seriously, you really need to stop this casual dismissal of Wigan's own injuries as though they're simply irrelevant. Sam and Joel Tomkins and Micky McIlorum and Sean O'Loughlin are key personnel for us. Vital, in fact. It could equally be argued that, as regular first-teamers, Willie Isa and Dom Crosby are important losses too. So that gives us an 'advantage' over you of ONE.
I'm sure that, as triple-crown holders, you're not going to be so churlish as to make a big deal out of that?

Have a look at the quote I was responding to and maybe you'll understand my 'chippy' tone mr patronising. Apparently we've only lost a hooker and a stand off, so I'm imagining the rest. Or am I wrong to take issue with a deliberate false representation of our situation? And I think missing 6 of your first choice 13 is the very definition of a big deal. Churlish or not, it's true.
According to the Wigan rag O'Loughlin will likely be back for Friday, so that's one back for you. I'm not claiming nobody else gets injuries, I'm not saying it's not part and parcel of the game - what I am saying is that people are talking like it's unreasonable for Leeds fans to point to our injury list and say that it's probably playing a part in our form and it has a considerable impact on our chances of winning at places like the DW. Apparently that's out of order.

You knew the three were retiring before the season started... Irrelevant.

| Leeds keep counting the three lads that have retired as though they're missing them from a potential 17! They spent their salary cap space elsewhere and they have been replaced by others.
I see McGuire as Leeds most important player this year and he's a huge loss for them but Sam Tomkins and Micky Mac are two of our three most important players (along with Lockers) and neither will be there on Friday along with a few others.
Leeds don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to using injuries as an excuse because they're playing a team with plenty of problems themselves. To try and keep throwing the retirements of players who's cap space has been spent elsewhere is showing a little desperation IMO.
I wouldn't mind but we're missing Andy Farrell, Shaun Edwards and Billy Boston anyway.
