| I don't like the man but Hardaker has been the standout for me, Williams for YOP

| Hardaker is overrated. That's not to say he isn't a good player, but that he is in no way MoS standard.
A pretty poor year I reckon. I've said Cuthbertson all along, but I think on reflection I'd go with James Roby, as one of the few World Class players in Super League.
I'd have thought Bateman is unlucky not to be short listed for Young Player, making it a Wigan 1/2/3 - is he too old?

| Not sure how Currie get's nominated. Stevie Ward, Savelio, or Percival are more deserving IMO.

You're right. It's only fans, pundits, coaches and now his fellow players who think he's an exceptional talent. You should point this out to them before they make a terrible mistake.

| Cuthbertson has to win it. His ability to offload in any situation has completely changed how Leeds play, and has been one of the main reasons why they've been the best team this year.

Mmmm. I think we've been here before. Hardaker hasn't been challenged at the highest level yet. Let's reserve judgement until after the autumn internationals. If he gets selected. The coach might think we've got someone better.
By the way. Getting a MoS nomination doesn't make you an exceptional talent. It just means you've played well in a poor season overall.
I do think it would be a mistake though.
Hardaker is a particularly nasty piece of work. I haven't met him personally. But I know some who have. I'd have thought that making him MoS would be yet another RL own goal. I mean if the Premier League can avoid making Luis Suarez their player of the year I reckon we can do better too, though I don't expect you to agree with me

| Cuthbertson by a country mile, he's almost single handedly revolutionised the way Leeds play.

For Young player both Bateman and Stevie Ward were too old. You had to be UNDER 21 before the season kicked off.

| Cuthbertson for MOS.
The difference between Leeds finishing 6th last year and top of the pile almost all season this season.
Williams YPOY.
Burgess is excellent but been forgotten with his injury.
Currie, don't know how he got selected. Percival should have had that nomination.

| Walmsley and Williams for me
Culbertson is a class act but if i had to pick one between him and Walmsley for Wigan, i would pick Walmlsey every single day of the week

| How Roby hasn't been nominated I will never know. I think people have become desensitised to his contribution.
It's a close one for MOS, but I'd say Williams has burst onto the scene this year and has a massive future if he keeps his head on straight.

I agree with this. Hence the hysteria around whoever is the latest Sky/Media obsession. We don't seem to support our best players as the Aussies do. How Roby got overlooked in favour of Clark last year is a case in point. What's happened to him this year?
Meanwhile Roby gets overlooked again whilst the latest obsession gets picked.
Picking the full back from the top team is like picking a football goalie in this instance. I mean Hardakers apologists always argue that his better defence is more important than Sams far greater attacking threat. It's a bit like Wiggys laughable assertion that Wellens was better than Billy Slater.
Hardaker is hardly fit to be ranked with the likes of Tomkins, Farrell, Graham, Peacock, Sculthorpe, Lyon etc. actually my biggest surprise is that they haven't contrived to give it to Sinfield!
My hope is that he gets picked over Sam against NZ and gets found out. Then the media can move on to their next obsession.
