| He has broken Kirk Dixons jaw.
I like his aggression at times but he needs to learn to control it a lot better than he did today, he was running round like a headless chicken and should've been sent off after the Dixon high tackle.
Will get a 3 game + ban and rightly deserved IMO, hopefully he will learn from this mistake.
Time for Tomkins to step up and prove his worth.
Hope Dixon awakes a full and speedy recovery too.

I was stood in the corner at the Wigan end so must have been 70 yards (at least) away from the tackle. I presume it was the one straight after the kick off for which he got penalised. To me it looked as though he fell into the tackle, a bit like Solialas v Wire.
However it will no doubt be reviewed and should he be found to be guilty of an illegal/dangerous/deliberate tackle he should get a long suspension.

| Commentary seemed to suggest it was Ben Flower... sure it was McIlorum?

| It was from a kick off, Dixon came forward jumped in the air caught the ball and McIlorum smashed him as he landed , I was in line with it but it all happened so fast I don't know where the initial contact was , Ref gave Cas a penalty for high tackle but he never gave the signal for putting it on report.
Kirk confirmed on twitter jaw broken .

Like Bowen and Pettybourne did?
Don`t be silly he will get a slap on the wrist and told to work on his tackling technique.

| I was in direct line with the tackle but was unable to see where the initial impact was made, my initial thought was he fell into the tackle. MM had a poor game, but he was not on his own. Was he captain? Can he handle this roll was my train of thought throughout the game, we did look rudderless and missing a leader in the middle.

He led them out in the first half, but Smith led them out in the second half as Logan was on at the time.

Long term he may well take over from Lockers at both LF and captain. He is seen as quiet, which Lockers used to be accused of too.

| Not a word gets said by anyone behind the sticks after we concede a try. Even Lockers is more of a lead by example type captain. We don't have anyone who'll read the riot act after we concede. Tomkins used to do it. We are severely lacking senior players, and it's something that quite a few fans were concerned of in pre season, particularly when Hansen left.

| was gonna say, SoL isn't a big talker on the field but he's well respected. MM to me seems to be too hot-headed to look fto as an influence.
In 2nd half when we scored Matty Smith was the vocal one behind the posts. MM stood out the back of the huddle nearest the fans and got a lot of stick

I would argue that this is what Bowen, with all of his experience, should be providing. At full back he should be organising the defence in front of him. He gives the impression of someone who concentrates only on his own performance (which is average at best). And it's not good enough to suggest that he's settling in, because Sam has never shut up over at NZW.

Absolutely.
And Collis`s ban for what looked like a pretty tame challenge on Gale.
All points to a lack of consistancy once again.
