For me personally, this is the biggest one yet.
I've been watching Wigan for 26 years and I've seen us play in some massive games.

World club challenges, challenge cup finals, other grand finals, premierships, regals etc etc.

Wigan v Wire have been the best two teams for the 3-4 seasons and its about time we met in a final.
The rivalry between the two sides has gone up a thousand notches in recent years and every times we play them it feels huge.

The rivalry of Wigan v Saints has taken a backward step of late. The 2010 GF pales into insignificance compared to what we're about to see on Saturday in my view. I can just about handle losing to saints, I can't bare losing to these men!

Wire absolutely HATE us. Their jealousy and bitterness is clear for all to see I'd love nothing more than seeing their sulky sour faces leave Old Trafford in tears. But it could go either way, too close to call.

I feel absolutely sick to the stomach at the thought of losing this one.

Saturday will either be the best or worst day of my Wigan watching life.

I've never wanted to win a game so much

Your post is dripping with hypocrisy, so much so that it must be a troll. Your hate and desperation is right there. You seem to want to win this solely because you don't want us to win, whereas I couldn't give a toss about stopping you lot, obviously we will have to in order to lift the trophy, but we want to win this for ourselves, not to revel in your failure.

I'm sorry but i think your opinion will be in the minority, there will be a stack of fans either side waiting to rip the looser a new one after the grand final.

Obviously there will be jibes and use of bragging rights, but you can't think that when we win we'll spend most of our time ripping into you lot as oppose to marvelling at the things we did right?

i dont just expect it i know it! but like i said it will happen the other way as well. If wire beat their duck and its against Wigan there wont be enough mods on this board to keep order. And you can guarantee there will be at least 2 new songs invented for next season.

personally its going to be a big embarrassment for the loser for silly reasons, if wigan win its haha and you think your the better team than us and you'll never win a grand final. for warrington its yes we are the champions probably another 2k bandwagon fans with the opinion of there never was rugby before we won the grand final.

It's difficult to predict how wire fans will act, as nobody has ever seen them win the league

Same as the OP. Probably the most nervous iv ever been for a wigan game, including CC finals, WCC and grand finals. The thought of losing doesnt bare thinking about, winning would be unbelievable. The way we have been written off all year, to do the double, and do it against this lot would be the sweetest feeling ever.

I don't see it as "the main one" this Saturday as the OP says. It's a big game, make no mistake about it. For me though, I don't get the same butterflies in my stomach as I do when playing Wire compared to when playing Saints, for me Saints are our ultimate enemy no matter where we or they are in the league. Ever since being little, and growing up to close to the enemy where it's half and half in Billinge, if they beat us they're waiting for you straight away but if it's the other way round you don't see them for weeks!! There's a couple Wire fans round Billinge, who we've always had good banter with, same as a couple who I've got to know over the years on the Wire board, never been nasty even when they've had their recent success it's not been over the top compared with the Saints fans. I think it probably also helps the fact that we've already had a trophy this year so even if we do lose on Saturday, we've still had a good year in my opinion although it would be a bonus to have the double.

Not as big as 2010 for me but still a massive game. im sure there will be the usual bell-end element on here after the game (from both sets of fans)

Big but not the end of the world.

I think we have done incredibly well this season - CC winners and appearing in the grand final - win or lose it will still be a great season - especially with the expectations at the start of the season.

I for one hope we win but if we lose I hope it is a great and close game so that whoever wins can say they won it fair and square - because win or lose we will still be able to celebrate a successful season.

I agree with this - it's a massive game for Wire, to be sure, but can almost be described as "just another final" for us. Saints, despite their (probably temporary) decline, are still the Old Enemy, and as you say we've already had a great season even if we do lose.
