| Usually sit in the south but sat in the east on Friday thinking there might be some atmosphere but seems to be getting worse by the week. Something needs doing in my opinion whether it be by the club or the fans

It is called apathy, accepting the inevitable.

| Totally agree even with a good crowd like Friday there is still no atmosphere. I am not sure how this can be remedied.

| Playing a full strength team in a game which decided who would be champions might have helped !!!

Actually I thought the atmosphere was pretty good on Friday. The main problem was there wasn't much to cheer after the first 15 minutes.
We can't fault the club for managing to pull 19,000 people in to watch Huddersfield. I bet that won't happen anywhere else this season, unless the Giants make it to Old Trafford.

I thought the atmosphere and size of the crowd probably contributed to Huddersfield looking a bit like rabbits in the headlights in the first 15 minutes but once they settled down they seemed fine.
Think the Wigan crowd will certainly be tested at Wembley, just hope they have something to cheer about for the full 80 this time!

| There has been a mixed atmosphere at the DW for a while i know but I've noticed when I have gone to away games, we have had the terraces rocking with chants as everyone joins in whereas at home people just stay silent maybe because like an earlier post said the lack of away fans make some people think why chant when theres no opposition to antagonise.

Its not being all seater but too big a capacity for a town the size of Wigan.
20,000 would have been better.
Even the Latic's could not fill it with Premiership football.

Plus the roof at North Stand amplifies sound more from what I have been told due to it having a different material.
When the Latic's first played there, it was a home stand with their visitors in the East Stand but was changed for some reason.

| Just received a survey from the club, some of the questions were about the atmosphere at the DW Stadium and ask for suggestions of how to improve it.
In previous seasons we had the S2 Brigantes who created their own atmosphere with singing, drumming and flags. The club to some extent contributed to the disbanding of this group of supporters. I know there was some trouble at the Huddersfield away game but this was done by a small minority of people.
Also I read comments (on these forums) from fans complaining about the noise and drumming that this group of supporters created.
If 500 traveling fans can create an atmosphere whatever has gone wrong with our own support.
We have the flags in the South Stand gantry so somebody must be interested in the match day experience.
Bring back the S2/S1 Brigantes.

Load of tash, just excuses how can our sound be amplified when it's on permanent mute.
I've seen 500 Cas fans in the East Stand this year show us just how much excuse it is.

Seen the survey, it does seem the club are trying to at least understand if not rectify the problem, and it is a problem.
I'd like to see our fans as a whole do the same, after all generally it is what 'supporters' are there for.

Quite.
It seems you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Drummers too load and annoying...
Singing is monotonous...
Flags are obstructing my view...
Attracting wrong sort of image...
'Brigantes', 'Ultras'... Think they're better fans than the rest of us...
I can't sit were I want to because the Brigantes are there...
Result, Brigantes disband.
Now we're moaning about the atmosphere again. We've come full circle.
