| Way too many mistakes by experienced players of all people, but two points is all we needed from that game
Good experience for the young lads

The main ones for me were:
Josh not trusting Goulding in defence when the ball was being thrown to the sides, thus getting caught out by Ah Van time and again.
Loose carries early in the tackle and within our own thirty, must have been four on the bounce around the hour mark!
Great win though.

| It's easy to look good on the front foot and its easy to pick faults. That team went out, held their own against a set of decent Superleague players, went behind and then earned 2 league points.
They deserve our respect for what they achieve tonight.
The futures bright
It's cherry and white

| Out of the experienced players I thought only Hansen could really take a huge amount of credit, he was immense. Guys like Taylor and Tomkins were very good but they're bits of kids themselves.
Great win considering some of the silly errors.

Wasn't able to make it due to work, so can't comment from personal observation. However I've seen it mentioned in more than one place tonight on here that the centre was getting sucked inside by not trusting those inside him, thus leaving Charnley exposed on the wing covering 2 players. I've seen this so many times over the years, and the blame is often laid at the feet of the winger, when his only realistic option is to follow his centre infield when the marking breaks down, and the end result is an overlap that the winger can exploit with a good pass.
This happened on numerous occasions when Deacon was playing for us, for example, and Ainscough got the blame so often when it wasn't his fault.

It was more to do with him having Hughes inside 2nd Hal IMO.
1st try was a bad read but didn't see much else 1st half that Side to worry me, 2nd half was poor from charnley defensively.

Agree. Kicked a beauty for Tierney's try. The only one he missed that I thought he would put over was his attempt on Gelling's second try.

| The second conversion was mid-way between the posts and touch, any good goal-kicker should be able to knock those over with thier slippers on.
If you look at his kicking from last season Charnley wierdly seems to have more success with the touch-line kicks than the ones either side of the posts.
His try was class though - reminded me of the one he scored against Wire in the cup.

Possibly, but as a winger you're told "don't get sucked in" and to mark your oppositon number.
It's all irrelevant now. Great win achieved, nice fortnight's break for those not included in the Exiles game and looking forward to seeing our injured players coming back refreshed!

| I thought the overlap tries that were scored down our right hand side were down to Goulding and then Hughes not trusting Williams to make one on one tackles, so they were coming too far inside to help him out and it was leaving Charnley exposed.

I'm not sure that is what is taught to wingers. If the players inside you slide inside, you need to come inside as well, otherwise you leave a big gap on the inside. Far better to have a try scored near the touchline than further infield, as the kick is harder.
