| Some good news to delay the suicide pact being formed on here.

| Good News!
Means we will get more compensation now before they go to Australia.

| Long overdue good news, but I wouldn't blame anyone for feeling a little pessimistic when they read this.
Had Parramatta stumped up the cash, one of our best players in Gareth Hock, who signed a five year deal only last year, would be off to Australia.
Interesting the bit about Lockers.

Indeed. The apparent willingness to sell its best players is not something I expect to see associated with Wigan.

Shows there is a reward for loyalty. You are a long time retired from sport and by the looks of it he will be getting an income from sport for a lot longer than those who take the short term view.

| Good news for the rest of Superleague that McIlorum has signed a new deal.
They'll enjoy those piggybacks up the field he gives.

| The big signing for me is Charnley, he may not be the most important interms of his role in the team, but he will have been the one most likely to get the attention of both the NRL and also union.

That implies that the club are willing to sell... How is it an "apparent willingness" without you, me or anybody outside those in the know, knowing ANY of the details..?

| I don't think O'Loughlin was ever going to go anywhere, which is just as well for you as he is probably your most important player now. Charnley is in the top 3 wingers in the country & has a great deal of improvement left in him yet. McIlorum is a flat track bully who showed in the recent internationals how average he really is. The Martin Hall of the 21st Century but with a nasty streak.

| I would say McIlorum is more of a Jimmy Lowes, Terry Newton type hooker than Martin Hall. Given that he started his playing career at Queens the "rough" part of his game should be taken as a given.

Not to mention the 2nd best hooker in the league

I meant in the average player way, rather than aggression, in an otherwise great team (not that the current team is in the same league as the great WIgan teams of the 90s). Newton was about the dirtiest player of his era but had fantastic attacking qualities to go with it, talents that McIlorum lacks.
