| With Warrington loosing on Friday, it puts Wigan in a position were we could afford to loose another game and still finish top after the regular season.
I think it would be better for Wigan to play Catalan in the play offs than possibly Saints 3 games on the trot. I also think Saints could get into Warringtons heads in the play offs.
IF we can beat Salford and HKR, should we rest players against Saints to enable them a win and thus ensure they finish third there by playing Warrington in the play offs.
It would also show up what a farcical play off system we have at present, that this could be done.

| So you guys are afraid of playing Saints and you hope Saints will beat Wire to take us out of the equation.
And you are that scared of us both that you are considering throwing a match.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| Isn't it the same as you throwing the London game to give you the best chance of winning the CC ?
Either that or Warrington peaked the against us, or are London just that much better than you ?

I don't see how getting our backsides handed to us last week gives us a better chance of winning the CC....if we had wanted to do that we should have played the U21s rather than first teamers.
But also London came and played us without fear and showed how to beat us whereas Wigan always seem to be hesitant when you play us. Wigan are so good against everyone else but keep bottling it when they have to face the Wolfs.

| So it wasn't a tactical decision to leave out Briers, Hodgson, Carvell, Westwood etc. to give them a rest and keep them ready for Wembley ?
If thats as good as Warrington really are, you'd better not turn up against Leeds and for the play offs !!!

| I know what the OP is getting at and tend to agree.
It would be better in my eyes if we were to get Cats at home and let Stains and Dire bash themselves about, maybe twice before reaching the final.
I dont think we will be resting players though, maybe we should

| If we want to win the GF we are going to have to beat the best teams to get there anyway. What a way it would be to do it, by beating St Helens 3 times on the trot and then beating Warrington in the final!

| That is exactly what I was trying to say PeaPoi, why should we even attempt to beat our closet rivals three games on the trot, if we can take a potentially easier route to a Final?
People say finishing top doesn't matter (we would have done that anyway), it's all about the play offs, lets make it as easy a route as possible.
