Does anyone know if wigans pitch is swimming today after all the flooding in that area with douggy bursting it's banks?

How can a pitch swim?

Does it need armbands?

Not seen the pitch but a lot of the local area was under water...unbelievable amount of rain fell here today...Can't really see the weather cancelling the game but it's gonna be a wet surface,unless the sun makes an appearance on monday, which is more than possible,,and at this time of year the sun is at it's strongest so can dry the ground very quickly.

I think you Union whallers should stick to swimming in the Mersey and the Ship Canal ,the Dougy may be a tad to clean for you.

The Dougy hasn't burst its banks yet but its not far off. A lot of the pitch is underwater but its ok.

The canal has burst its banks near the ground and houses are flooded. It must be flooded right across to the ground. So even if the pitch isn't flooded the drains won't be very effective if more rain comes.

Canal wont have burst its banks. Beresford street is renowned in the area for having poor drainage, which isn't helped by run off from the railway embankment.

Well I didn't know the answer and was bored so I though't I'd have a joke.

Plus with the team doing so well recently and with nothing to moan about, all I can do is laugh and joke.

Has the Douglas actually burst it's banks or is this just some localised flooding? If so can the question of the Douglas allegedly being higher than the pitch level now be answered?

Anybody know if the trains are affected by the flooding?
