| Once again I took my family to see my team play our arch rivals Saint Helens. I think I will need surgery to wipe the smile off my face at this hard fought win. Well done to Wigan's best defensive effort this season.
I was totally shocked at the foul mouthed chant of five in a row. Come on lads there is no need for the explitive F word. You could used bottled it, Blew it , threw it, or anything else. If you can't come up with a chant that uses clean language ,just forget it get on with your lives and leave it to someone that can.
The stewards bottled it by not telling them. Why play a tape every match telling us this is a family sport and that foul and abusive language is not acceptable and let the idiots Effing a chant get away with no warning. I say to these people who think this sort of language is common and OK that quite simply it is not. We had 7, 8 and 5 year old children listing to what is totally unacceptable language.
ALL I ASK IS THAT THE PEOPLE WHO RUN WIGAN WARRIORS PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH AND DO THEIR JOB

Are you seriously saying it's down to the Wigan RL management to prevent foul-mouthed chanting in the stands?
And if they don't, or can't, how is that failing to 'practise what they preach'?
Before you respond, bear in mind that the stewards aren't employees of Wigan Warriors.

| Oh get real.
This is a sports stadium, and you get chanting. Some of it is clean, some of it isn't. If you're really that offended, then don't go, or buy your kids earplugs. It's down to, basically, you wanting to over-protect your kids, which really isn't everyone else's problem.
I have a seven year old daughter - she knows that dirty words exist, but most importantly, she knows not to use them.
Swearing aside, the five in a row chant is genius. There's no comeback from it.

Not true. The stewards tried to stop it but it is very difficult. The essence of the chant is superb but I personally don't like the use of the F word which is unnecessary. The chant would still be superb without the F word.

| If you don't like hearing swear words I suggest you don't go, it's ALWAYS going to happen at a sports match like that.

| As someone else has said the use of the F word is not necessary.
I realise in today's society it is commonplace but it is just plain wrong.
Also as a 50 year old I quite like to join in with the singing but what you all need to realise is that I will not sing that song sat next to my wife and 14 year old.

| If you don't like it, don't sing it. However, you are the minority. Most of the stadium was singing it yesterday. Change the words, or don't sing it.

| I actually think its hilarious how irate some people get over bad language at a sports game, Its kind of expected especially with the passion that goes into a derby match. Kids hear worse at school anyway and the constant tannoy updates reminding us to 'keep it clean' in a 'family stadium' just kills the atmosphere. Football fans don't seem to care and family's go to watch that...

Have you done a survey? I'd be fairly certain that less than 50% were singing it as I have yet to hear anywhere near 50% of people sing any song.

| Whilst it isn't ideal (I have two young lads myself) it's been part of Rugby League since I can remember (early 80's) and they choose to ignore it.
Wire to us (Who the F***ing hell are Wigan/pope song).
Us to Wire (Wanky Wanky Warrington)...still a sexual swear word.
Us to Saints (If you hate St Helens, if you really f***ing hate them).
Us to Leeds (All Yorkshire men sh*g sheep / sheep, sheep sheep sh*ggers).
Us to anyone (Build a bonfire, burn the f***ing lot).
Us to anyone (You'll win win F**k all again, St Helens/Rhinos/Warrington).
Us to any referee (Referee, you're a w*nker, you're a w*nker).
I could go on. It's not a new phenomenon, so why all the hysteria all of a sudden?
A couple of weeks ago, two young lads went past me on bikes (neither older than 7/icon_cool.gif, both effing and jeffing. I spoke to my eldest lad who is ten and I asked him if there is a lot of swearing in the playgrounds, he said there was....and a lot of it came from the girls.
