| Praise: McIlorum outstanding
Forwards more than handled themselves against the huge Dragons pack.
The fact we kept them scoreless in the second half.
Gaz Hock's performance.
Very good attendance.
Grumble:
Few silly errors.
Some sloppy passes in the first half.
Richard f*!*£&-*(&*^*&*&£&icon_wink.gif(*$)()£ ing Silverwood!

| Praise - Excellent 2nd half performance
McIlorum led us round superbly and backed it up with some ruthless defensive hits
Grumble - could have been a bit more clinical, bombed a couple of opportunities.
Catalan's soft 2nd try right before half time (even though they had been piggy backed in to that position by some dubious 50/50s going against us)

| Praise:
I thought our forwards did a brilliant job on a pack that has hammered us in previous times. I was also very impressed with the way we didn't get sucked into the Catalans physical play who put in some cheap shots. It was only until we knew the game was won we started giving a few back ourselves. The speed of our ruck area was also one of the key reasons as to why we won today.
Grumble:
Our inability to put chances away early on when we could have been ahead by more, maybe that was down to over confidence. Our discipline is still a big worry and our completion rate at the start of the 2nd half was poor, I don't think we completed our first 2 sets, luckily the Dragons didn't take anything from it.
Overall though a satisfying performance in what for me before the game was the biggest test for us so far this year, 8/10.

| Praise:
Hock was immense, regularly punching holes and looking capable of a break
Goulding looks to be brimming with confidence, even in the way he carries the ball off our own line
Paddy's goal kicking looks to be right back on the money
Grumble:
The amount of forward passes that are just completely ignored, it was like NFL at times today
Sunday afternoon atmospheres seem to drag us down a little
We need to be more clinical, else we could find ourselves dragged into some unnecessary second half dog fights

We kept on working hard even though it didnt come off straight away. The forwards were immense. Hock took half their team for a ride with him when he was running the ball in and it got to the point where they looked a bit scared to tackle him. We won the second half 26-0 which would win us 99% of matches. Nice to see Eric mixing it up , he had a word with a cats player who went late on Sam after he kicked and also he ran in to the other incident. The team morale and togetherness seems extremely good this season.
Grumble
First half was a bit sloppy not helped by absolutley terrible officiating. Worst ive seen for a long while.

| Praise:
Excellent overall team performance at this stage of the season, particularly from the forwards, who more than held their own against a very big and very physical Catalans side. There are areas to work on and there are no trophies for playing well at this stage of the season but we can look forward with confidence to 2012 knowing we have every chance of success this season.
McIlorum - if he keeps playing like this many posters on this board will enjoy having to eat humble pie. Very impressive.
Hock - great stuff
Grumble
Silverwood and the TJs....

| PRAISE -forwards immense absolutely steamrolled their massive pack. Good to see Eric and Flower settling in well and in this form they will be hard to dislodge.
GOULDING proving his best position is his natural position of centre great in defence and running the ball out at dummy half.
team togetherness obviously showing, they are all fighting for each other.
GRUMBLE - Bomber a few in first half. Silverwood not at the races missed several obvious forward passes, didn't control the 10 [more like 5] and got no help from touchjudges. Still can't wait for Friday night games and much better atmosphere!

Hock, showing why we had faith,
Micky Mac - best hooker we've had since Nicky Kiss, awesome yesterday
played as a team
grumble
ball didnt stick a few times, could have been looking at 50+,
first half we used the wrong tactics, made it an arm-wrestle rather than spinning the ball through the backs
sun was in my eyes for part of game
standard of refs and TJs - how many forward passes not given... and that try??!!
