| Wigan North Western is closer, by about 10 yards. There is a Mercure hotel just in town there.

The two Stations are Wigan North West and Wigan Wallgate, either will do as they are about 100 yards apart (across the road). The Brocket is ideal for you.

One [North Western] has several lines, including the West Coast Main Line while the other [Wallgate] has the one line Manchester-Southport.

That one really needs to be extended into Liverpool, all it would take is an extra 10 yards of track.

Because there are people who live in the Wigan Borough (311,000) that might want to go to Liverpool or Manchester by train.

Pemberton, Orrell, Upholland and Rainford Junction. Get on at any of these and you have to get off at Kirkby, walk 10 yards down the platform and get on another train on the same line. It's alright if there is a train waiting but there isn't always one there.
