Dont be silly, it's not tomkins fault we lost tonight. The Aussies are just to good in every department for us.
Fair enough, tomkins looked like he couldn't catch a cold but to day it's his fault is a joke.
At he end of the day we just ain't good enough

| Tomkins didn't turn up tonight - I think he is nervous of the Australians - but that wasn't the reason we lost. We looked just like we always look when the Aussies come to town: we revere them too bloody much instead of getting stuck into them.
That and we are still feeble in the backs.
And Kevin Sinfield is not a 6, never will be a 6, and I do wish our national coach would accept that.

| i am guessing you guys have never played rugby at any level over under 7's.. I dont want to blame any players in the sqaud because we haven't had time to gell its not the players are bad player but you need to look at the 6, 7 and 9 to make some moves to allow some space outside was there even a move made in the game? chase and sinfield just didnt play together and to be honest what happend to roby?

Nervous?! No fullback in world rugby can make an impact if he has to run the ball out from his in-goal with a wall of defenders or feed off scraps. Sam needs to play 6 for England and let him and Lomax run the show. I think Burrow would have made a huge difference to the dynamic of the team in this tournament also. Sinfield has and always will be to me a massive flat track bully. He is a placekicker, would be a good fly half in union but his lack of pace/size for either of the positions he is pigeon-holed in within our code is criminal.
It's disappointing to lose again but it's times like tonight when you think Charnley, Mossop, Lomax, Burrow in his newer role and a few others dotted about SL will make us a bit more dynamic and not a bunch of plodders.

What a totally pathetic post! Do you seriously think because you have played the game who have a better opinion than someone who hasn't?
I've played the game 22years and at a pretty high level for most of that and I'm not arrogant or stupid enough to think inknow the game better than someone who has never played the game.
However, I agree our halfbacks was pod today and as usual we went into our shells against the Aussies.
Roby wasn't great today but he wasn't bad either. He got thru tons of work.

| Lots will blame Tomkins whereas if say the lad was lucky not to lose us the game and it was actually lost by appalling performances from Sinfield and Chase again. They simply didn't do their jobs even though they were given opportunities to and they let the rest of the side down including Tomkins who was given no quality ball to try and make up for some early woeful fullback play that he got away with.
Truth is though they're easily better then us. This rubbish that we have better forwards was brushed aside tonight with Gallen, Thaiday and Smith dismantling our pack.
They attack to a structure that we don't. Wigan copied it for the past 2 years and it beared fruit. England tonight had the structure of an under 8's side and the halfbacks take the majority of blame.

| The forwards were battered and the halves were , cut out Tomkins overlap play ourselves without the Aussies help.

am i the only one who thought roby was one of our best players then? it winds me up so much how every time james graham runs at the line he passes the thing. he must be a nightmare to play with with the hospital passes he gives. also i thought our 3/4 line held their own as much as they could do considering the difference in quality of their opposite numbers. the true problem for england lies in the 6 and 7 roles , i forgot chase was playing and sinfield didnt do an awful lot , not once did i see us produce 4 or 5 passes out to the wing.

Well done. At last you've found something in life that has given you a hard-on.
It was a long road, but you got there.

I dont think my opinion is better than anyone else but when some one states that tomkins is to blame for the loss then yeah i can say i understand a game of rugby better than them. either that or they do understand what happend but are just trolling either way its not right.
if you read what i wrote i said i wont blame any of the players as its hardly as if their crap like people are saying because we lost its more to do the fact it takes more than 3 games to understand how each player plays. no roby wasn't bad but he wasn't up to hes usually standard in attack.. we just looked cluess when it come to putting together a set move where as the aussies could do it when they felt like it. the state of origin is something we need to get are act together, also we need to keep changes to a minimum for the world cup.
