| IL has stated on numerous occasions at Fans Forums that reaching the Challenge Cup Final would boost profits massively, much more than the proceeds from winning the SL Grand Final & apprearing in the subsequent World Club Challenge Final as we recently did. He stated we receive a far greater % from the gate receipts plus thousands made from merchandise sales.
I read last week in the Semi Final preview link regarding Rangi Chase this. '"
Would this be about right? (I know it's "The Sun"icon_wink.gif, if so no wonder IL was rubbing his hands at the the end of the game yesterday.

| Well I just got a shed load of birthday money that will more than likely be spent on anything that says 'Wembley' when I visit the club shop over the next 3 weeks. I've even said I'll buy that horrible pink number if they bring out the commemorative ones so it may well be.
Don't forget, you'll probably get sponsors throwing money at you now as well to sponsor the suits, rosettes etc etc

You'd imagine the existing sponsorship deals have clauses for extra funds to the club based on being on display at the Cup Final on BBC.

Exactly. You'll also get new sponsors looking to come on board for the final (you do in football anyway)

| I'm pretty sure that the direct figure paid to the club (from gate-money, etc.) is around £180-200k, as IFL stated last year that it would be the difference between a £100k profit and an £80k loss.
As for merchandising - Well let's just say that I'm sure that we'll make more of it than under the previous regime.

| Its safe to assume they will sell quite a few shirts, tshirts, scalfs etc, theres usually bonuses in the sponsors contracts for final appearances etc as especially the challenge cup gives great exposure
But this is the downside of only having 3 weeks to sort it all out not much time for the club to order stuff
On the other hand having two home games before gives them a chance to sell stuff aswell

| I put this in another thread......
"I hope people snap up loads of merchandise for the challenge cup final. I remember the Hull FC website saying shirt sales had passed 30,000 when they got to the final. Hopefully be more profit for the club and a full end of cherry and white. Hopefully all the flags and scarfs people buy will attend other games as well.
A trip to Wembley and a trip to Old Trafford should mean a very tidy profit for the club this year, not many sports clubs can say they are making good profit at times like these."
So if we can sell all that extra merchandise, plus the ticket sales, plus the coach and the train profits, plus the extra gate receipts we could get from winning a trophy.... I wouldn't be too shocked if it gets close to that mark.
As for the money from the RFL for tickets... I reckon it will be more than that. A full Wembley on matchday makes well over 2million I think.

Luxury. I had to share a cardboard box outside in the snow with my whippet AND 6 of my brothers.

| I seem to recall Wigan saying that winning at Wembley every year (80s early 90s) was worth a million and that's how Wigan was fully pro when all the other clubs was basically amateur.
