| This disciplinary panel needs to be looked in to.
7 cases were reviewed from our game this week - More than any other club.
Of which, not a single charge was laid, nor even a warning issued, because they were all legal tackles.
4 of those cases were for tackles AROUND THE LEGS !!!
What would they prefer? Around the head? Maybe the throat?
Only 1 other player throughout the competition was even reviewed for this non-event - Scott Moore.
When will they stop listening to the whining of people like Tony Smith about a perfectly legal technique which has been a part of our game since it began.
The other 3 "incidents" were for a non-chickenwing, the clash of heads between Radford and Cross and a raised elbow which hit the middle of the chest.
Absolute buffoonery.

Agree with that.
Maybe they were making a point to the rest of SL - "we've looked at lots these Wigan tackles and we don't think there's anything wrong with them, so there's no point banging on about it"?

Nothing wrong with tackling the legs, its simply a matter of how you apply it and where. For example, if a player's legs are straight and an opposing player comes into the knees from the side on then that is dangerous whether you like it or not. You can just as easily put your shoulder into the thighs and establish the same aim of halting the ballplayer.
People think T Smith was over exaggerating but I'm not sure he was. You can bet a pound to a penny that if one of your playmakers took a drive in direct and hard, was halted around the upper body and then another defender came flying in awkwardly at the knee joint causing injury, you guys would be in uproar, and rightly so!

T Smith had no point whatso ever and neither do you. Solomona was driving forward taking the tackler with him, Coley comes from behind and tackles a players legs, if rugby of all sports!!!!! the only reason Solonmona was injured was due to him being fat simple as. get over it.

The problem with Tony Smith's comments were that they were an overreaction to the tackle in question. There's nothing wrong with him voicing opinions about certain tackling techniques, he's not the only one and that's fine. The fact is the tackle on Solomona was viewed as entirely legal by pretty much everyone except for Smith who seemed to want to use it as an opportunity to have a moan about the tackling techniques he doesn't like. I can only assume he objects to the same sort of thing that a lot of other people in the game have objected to, but the tackle by Coley on Solomona was not an example of that no matter how much he might want to argue otherwise. It happens quite a few times during most games when one player goes high and the other low. He tackled a moving player around the legs, thigh first, while another was tackling high. It was just a textbook two man tackle which is why the comments he made were ridiculous.

| I mentioned this on my post 'like father like son'. 12 Wigan players reported over the last two weeks smells like a vendetta.
I remember a referee telling me he was going to send a player off later that day. He did send the player off who was well known for a certain offence. This made me realise that official have a certain agenda before a match and the person who is reviewing Wigan's matches is looking (hopefully) for dangerous tackles.
It wouldn't surprise me if they used the video ref on Saturday to try to get someone sent off. Paranoid? You betcha.

Imagine this then, you're on a night out with your bird and some geezer get's a good grip of one of her tits, you stand there filled with rage and out of nowhere you one arrow him in the face without even thinking about it. Crowds reaction = he deserved it, nice one mate
Scenario No2, as above, but just as he leaves go of said tit, your rage over powers you and you approach him and proceed to grab his arm and bite him on it! Crowds reaction = That guy who just bit the other guy is gonna get filled in any second now!
That's the difference. Biting in RL carries a lengthy ban and rightly so.

Different technique, that one sounds fine.
The one people are complaining about is when the 3rd man in attacks the side of the standing players knee.
Such tackles have put Emmitt out for the season, Solomona injured with it and Coley on Moa last week.
