Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg

Most Wigan fans i've talked to think we will get done on sat saying they are the best team in the comp

Fact is we are the best team in the comp and we should fear no one yes it's going to be a hard game and yes we could lose but i'm backing our lads all the way

So whats everyone thoughts on the game?

I'll put a poll on for the people who dont want to post

We are the best team in the comp. imo and yes it could go either way.
Don't think we should fear them, but we should give them respect as a good team, just not too much

This game can go either way, i think if wigan turn up an play as we know they can play they should win. The forwards have got to lay a platform for the backs to do there stuff, they cant let the wire pack get on top in attack and defence.

I'm going to be honest and say that I don't think that there has been two teams in SL so evenly matched. If it's a close one then I think Wigan have the mentality to be able to dig in and grind a result out. If Wigan try and take us on at our own game then we have the ability in attack to run up a score on any team.

Don't let your love turn to hate Now we've got to keep the faith Wigan Rugby League:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_35345.jpg

It is the ultimate 50/50 I can't split them. If we are to win we need our pack to show up in the way it did against Saints, and our kicking game to be spot on. If we can win up front I believe we have the quality in the backs [Mainly down the left side] to break Wire down. If we lose up front and allow Monaghan & Briers to run the show we will be in big big trouble. Not confident we will win, but the lads seem to want the CC this year, so we'll see how it goes.

If that's true then most Wigan fans need to have a very serious word with themselves.

We are Wigan. We are the Champions.

Our pack was very strong before Hock's return and the signing of Cross.

We have genuinely world class players in Tomkins, Richards, Leuluai, Hoffman, Carmont and Lockers.

Yes Wire are a good side. They are also more prone to switching off than Wigan are. If they play like they did against Hudds and have a brilliant first half and follow it up with a poor second half we will beat them and beat them comfortably. That's because we have the best defence in the league and ulitmately its defence, not flashy attacking moves and racking up cricket scores against poor teams, which is what marks out the best sides.

I'm sick of the negativity and defeatism on here. d040.gif icon_evil.gif

I'd say Wire are favourites. But like any game it could go either way, especially a game with two quality teams.

Wire fans seem pretty confident which im happy with. I read on their board one fan put that there is a 90% chance they will win.

You don't have the best defence by the way. I get what you mean though, I think you'd be much better in a tight game.

I have a feeling wire are going to target joel and charnley all game. Charnley gets drawn in in defence. Hopefully they stand up to I think atkins and king because if not briers will target josh from minute 1 to minute 80. I seriously don't know who is going to win and I won't predict who will win. All I say is this is one of wigans best packs under madge and it is very even, if not slightly better than the wire pack. Hopefully this week sees some respect from both sets of fans because personally I am fed up with all the bitching and trolling between the fans. The fact is our two sides are the best two sides in the comp and this game should be the final and is more than likely a grand final preview!
