| After a poor performance tonight, and a seemingly lack lustre form. Is anyone else really really really looking forward to the return of the king? I think he will inject aggression and fear into our team and possibly project us to two finals. God I can't wait!

No doubt if he doesn't flatten 3 men and score 2hat-tricks in his first game he will be 'past it', 'not up to it' or 'bloody useless'

Anyone else concerned he may be back playing too quick? He's had training and full contact practise only for a short time, but hasn't played a game in two years.

I'm looking forward to his return as much as the next person. But I'm not expecting him to set the world alight from the off go. He's not played in 2 years after all.
What I have always known is, that Gareth was the best secondrower in SL before his ban.
Just compare Gareth's stats the season he got banned, with Westwood's from last year, probably Ben's best season to date. Hock's stats are nothing short of superb. Particularly when you take into account Gareth played 8 games less than Westwood.
And what makes it even more impressive, is that the 2009 season for Wigan was complete and utter mediocrity, we never reached higher than fifth in the table that year. Where as last year which Ben's stats come from, Warrington spent all but three weeks of the season in second spot.

If Gareth can return and begin to find his form, and then hopefully with his new found maturity he can kick on to being an even better player. We'll have the best backrower in the competition playing for us once again. |
