Some may think this will be a positive thread about Deacon due to his match winning ball but I was annoyed with Deacon towards the end of that game.

Three extremely unintelligent mistakes from Deacon should really have cost us the game today. For someone with his experience and for someone with a view of going into coaching I expect better.

- Terrible decision making to commit to Graham in the buildup to the 1st Saints try leaving a massive gap for the supporting player.

- 2nd half, an offload from a teammate hits him on the head due to a lack of attention to the ball carrier which started the Saints comeback.

- Made things worse with a swinging arm deep in Saints' half which gave them field position to score the match levelling try.

Since when has a ball hitting the head been classed as a knock on ? it should have been play on.

But he was also a calm pair of hands that moved the ball well and put in some good kicks. Thought he played better than Finch, although he did make some mistakes as you say.

I don't know the exact rule but it should be classed as a knock on - I thought it was outlawed a few years back. Doesn't matter either way, Deacon should have been watching the play.

Accidently head hitting offload, high tackle at speed, hardly worth hanging him over it is it when he wins you the game.

The problem was that his lack of attention, changed the momentum of the game and almost lost it for us. I know it is harsh, but that is why experience makes the difference. Didn't think we would pull it back after that, but well done Wigan!! I just wish we would stop blowing it when we look like having the game won.

Sums it up perfectly.

Of course we're all over the moon we won in the way we did but I'm still frustrated that the game was even in the balance in the last minute. You shouldn't be getting mistakes like that from a man of Deacon's experience.

Our best kicking game of the season so far. Deacs played well for me. Wasn't expecting the ball when it hit him on the head, he was organising the next play. Ref got it wrong and that changed the game.

Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013 Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013 Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg

He doesn't have the pace any more, but I thought he suffered with not having Gleeson alongside him. There's a player that defends well, allowing Deacon to come in as second tackler, rather than have to commit on his own.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39110.jpg

Deacon won us the game and has been the missing link in our team.

Since when has the hooter not signalled the end of play? That was an even better one from Silverwood, and he never got taken to task for that decision either.

Couple of mistakes from an otherwise brilliant game he had.

Everyone makes them, good players make up for them like Deacon did.

Whilst not a huge fan of Deacon as a player in his own right he does have a positive influence on the team when he is on the field and the team has a much better balance to it when he is one of the half backs. I dont think any of our other half back combinations that have been without Deacon have really worked this season.
