Just seen this over at skysports, and its good to see that IL is keeping his options open.

| Wane will get the job.
We also have deacon joining the coaching staff but we need a strong assistant coach which will be a new recruit. Ellery HANLEY ANYONE

No thanks to Hanley.
Wane would be my choice, but i have always seen him as more of a motivator than a tactical mastermind.
I would like Wane to steer the ship as this would provide continuity, but i would prefer someone with a great play book to be his first lieutenant.
Deacon has to prove himself as a coach before i would let him anywhere near the first team. Rads is doing a grand job where he is and Bitcon is a conditioner first and foremost.
Some new blood is needed but only in an assistant role.
It will be sink or swim for Mr Wane if he does get the role, but he does not strike me as a man who is afraid of challenge.

| Agreed with the need for a tactically minded assistant for Wane, Im quite sure IL will leave no stone unturned in that quest, the question is, would you get someone from the NRL to be an assistant.

| I'd love to see Andy Farrell back but it isn't going to happen. Not for a long time yet, anyway. Tim Sheens would be my shout if Waney was to stay as assistant, but should he get the top job (and he should) then I'd say Adrian Lam.

| Waney is 100% a motivator - you only have to look at the guy and you'd think "Shoite, I'd better play well". Not saying he knows nothing about tactics, he obviously will working with a genius like Madge, but I feel we need more tactical know-how on board next season in the form of an assistant coach if Wane gets the top job.
Losing Madge will have a massive adverse effect on our tactics; we need someone to come in and steady that ship.

| Given this some thought over the weekend. I personally don't think we should give it to Wane because its the right thing to do, nor do I think we should throw it at any former player - lacking in experience.
We need someone with a good tactical ability for 2 years, to help enhance Wane's experience in this area. Nathan Brown would certainly fit the bill, especially given his tactical approach at Hudds. Not only that but a 2 year stay in this country would suit him down to the ground, given his ambition to return home.
At the moment we could make a serious mistake in coach recruitment because we are focussed on:
*Feeling compelled to give it to Wane.
*Wanting a Wiganer in charge.
*Wanting someone who will stick around forever.
