Apparently he will link up on dual reg with Widnes. They play Batley away on Sunday.

Incidentally Wigan's Ben Davies and Jack Hughes should both be in the Barrow side to take on Featherstone on Sky this Thursday Night.

Shame he hasn't had a run the first team, but a good opportunity for the lad to show Madge what he's capable of against seasoned professionals.

Thnx for the heads up on Thursday. Reading the Barrow forum on Total RL, Davies and Hughes were their best two players against Batley.

I was disappointed we did not go for Ben Davies as I liked him at Widnes. What is Crosby like compared to Davies?

The move to Widnes did Farrell no harm and the Widnes fans I work with rated Davies. It is a good move to play bigger forwards like Crosby against expereinced pros, moving staright from u20 to SL is a big step for a developing prop.

I think Farrell was ready for Wigan's first team before he played a few games with us, maybe those games just confirmed it. Ben Davies was one of the best players in the Championship last season, and it's tough for a forward with quite a few 'aging' forwards in the division to knock a few of the kids about.

If Crosby is half as good as Farrell and Davies were for us I'll be very happy.

I heard that Widnes were looking to sign Mark Flannagan for next year. After watching the game against Leigh i would look at their prop Chris Hill I was suprised they said he was 22 he seems to have been around for a long time.

Hilly made his debut for us in Super League as a 16 year old in 2005 so now in to his seventh season in the first team and still only 22! Rumour that Saints are looking to sign him at the end of the season (even though he's still under contract) and I don't think there's any Leyther who would begrudge him a deserved shot at the top flight.

It would be an interesting one as I don't think we need anyone else. From Thursday's team Frodsham (Saints loan) Heckenburg & Dave Houghton didn't play from first team squad and Alex Gerrard in academy too so why sign a DR when we have decent players there anyway!

If was Ben Davies proven quality in the Championship then maybe different but signing this lad on a DR I don't see how it benefits us right now.

Crosby has been very impressive in the under 20's. He only joined the club at a late age (19 I think) and since then he's worked his backside off. He's ahead of Ben Davies in the pecking order I feel (before Davies went on loan), although BD hasn't quite looked at his best this year. Crosby is a big lad, looks to have a surprising amount of pace and mobility for such a tall prop forward, good hands and he's a real hard worker.

Good, we've seen players reap the benefits of a spell in the Championship. Here's hoping it continues with these 2.

Good to see Logan going there too. He's been one of the best and most consistent performers for the under 20's this season in my opinion. The team looks much weaker when he leaves the field. I wasn't that convinced with him last season but this year he's been impressive.
