I noticed members of the 1987 Wigan team who beat Manly being introduced to the crowd and given their medals before the game last Sunday.
There appeared to be 9 men and 2 ladies on the pitch taking the applause. Now, I definitely recognised Hanley, Gill, Case, Stephenson, Gregory and Gildart. I think one of the other 3 men may have been Lucas, but I have no idea on the other characters; although I suppose one of the ladies may have been a post-op Edwards .
Can anyone name the ex players and ladies who were there.

The ladies in question were there to represent Hampo and Wane.
The other chaps were Ian Lucas, Richard Russell and Ged Byrne.

Thanks .......... so where were Lydon, Kiss, Potter, West and Edwards ? I believe Goodway now lives in Queensland, so probably too far to travel.

At the game were Ged Byrne, Richard Russell, Andy Gregory, Ian Gildart, Brian Case, Ellery Hanley, David Stephenson, Henderson Gill and Ian Lucas (as well Wane and Hampson's daughters).
Missing (from the pic in the Observer anyway) were Joe Lydon, Shaun Edwards, Nicky Kiss, Andy Goodway, Ian Potter and Graeme West.

Wasps had a game on the same day, which is presumably why Edwards couldn't make it. |
